Iv been thinking of starting mounjaro for a while now but worried about side effects. Iv started going to a private gym with a pt. Im hoping if I started mounjaro, would it also help with the energy boost I need too and not just weight loss? I also take sertraline for my mental health, which is always up and down! What are your views please 🙏 the good and bad ☺️

@ZImono 🤣 I also thought about regaine. My hair has never been overly thick, but now its very thin. Routine wellness has helped alot where it was thinning.

@HansHolbein Thats amazing 👏 well done you!

@sunnydaysfillmewithpeace I agree, thats what I don't want either, just a steady drop would be nice 👌

I'm 63 and have lost 5 stone on it since November. I have a stone and a half to go, I'm taking it half a stone at a time because I'm not sure what my final weight should be. I'm looking slim now.
It's been incredible. I've been fat for 30 years. I have CPTSD and emotional eat.
No hair loss here but it's important to do weights because otherwise you'll get baggy skin.
I'm on 10mgs and don't have any side effects at all. There were some in the beginning but they've all gone now. I'm in a routine with it and feel great.

For those mentioning Wegovy hair loss, can I recommend collagen protein powder? There’s lots of different brands on Amazon but I pay about £18 for a month’s supply. I put it in my 2lt water bottle and the protein helps me if I’m having a ‘snacky’ sort of day. I’m on my second month of it and I’ve noticed about a 20-30% increase in the thickness of my hair. It’s never been particularly thick but when I tie it up now, I can definitely feel the difference. It’s had a good impact on my previously bendy nails too.

I have lost 5 and a half stone in 7 months on MJ. Never had any side effects, have more energy than I have had in years. It’s helped my focus and function, it’s stopped my inflammation and I can enjoy normal meals now and then not give food another thought.

incredible stuff and always worth a try

It's definitely worth it for some people but I don't think it's necessary for everyone. I have been taking it for about a year and have lost 60lbs. The reason it's worked for me is because I struggle with consistency and binging on salty/sugary/fatty foods for dopamine.
I find yes it reduces my appetite slightly but it mostly reduces my cravings and makes me rather eat whole foods than junk food.
If you are someone who struggles with similar issues I'd say it's worth it but if you just struggle around your period and maybe could come up with some coping strategies like amending your calories so you've slightly more that week and less the other 3 etc. I don't think it's worth the money.

You mentioned having thin hair after kids, have you had your thyroid or vitamin d checked? These can both be impacted after pregnancy and can impact hair and weight.

I’ve previously used wegovy. It worked whilst I was taking it. I lost a lot of hair - a lot - but I also lost a lot of weight.
Im now using M, first jab last Wednesday I’ve had no side effects as yet other than eating less and not feeling as tired. This time round I’m taking supplements to help with the hair loss just in case, I don’t have enough left to lose anymore!

What hair supplements are you using please 🙏

I’ve lost 5 stone and am approaching my target weight

I feel better than I’ve done for years. Full of energy and enjoying the gym and my new wardrobe. My DH is enjoying my renewed sex drive 😊

it’s been life changing for me.

It has absolutely been worth it for me. I have been fighting my weight every day since I was a teenager. Often also successfully, have been mostly normal or slightly overweight, but it has been a daily, hourly battle. I have always exercised a lot, I don't need anybody to tell me to just take a walk and the weight will fall off - no it won't.

Now I am slim. It's fabulous! I still exercise most days, no issues, and my muscle mass is according to body composition scales, in 'very high' range. And for the first time, weight loss, while it still requires some effort, is not this hourly fight and struggle that I know I can only keep up temporarily.

I’ve been taking biotin, iron, and magnesium ( iron I am deficient in any way ) with collagen. I’m about to go look at the protein recommended by Sunnydays earlier in the thread as well. I’ve also ordered the shampoo recommended ( there’s a sale on Amazon )
This time round I’ve also added home made juices full of fruit and green veg to try and make sure I’m getting enough of what I need.
At the time when the hair loss got scary I started using that rogaine stuff, now I use the L’Oréal Elvive growth booster as I found it doesn’t make my hair greasy like the first one.
