Losing the will

Hello all. I'm very down. I'm about 5 stone overweight, I lost it all back in 2019/20 then it's gradually crept back on. When I try and do now what I did back then I lose about 4lbs then come to a halt.

I know about calorie deficit, I know I should eat less and move more but it feels so much harder this time around.

I'd love to start the weight loss injections but I really can't justify that kind of money every month.

Has anyone has any success with a tablet or any kind? I know orlistat would probably work but I'm afraid of the side effects 😬😬😬

I know I should be able to do this on my own but it just feels impossible!

Ok, my pen has just arrived, do I do it now or wait until later?? I'm working until 5 (from home) then the usual cooking dinner etc
Advice please!!

It really doesn’t matter. Now if you like and have 5 minutes to yourself.

I don’t know anything about WLI but I would say that there are few things more important for your mental and physical wellbeing than being a healthy weight. I would prioritise that spending if you can afford it.

eta - sorry, should have read the full thread 🙄

Emas82 · 25/06/2025 14:00

Thank you both. I've just eaten my lunch so I think I'll wait an hour or so. Not that that probably makes any difference 🤣

Hey, sorry to hijack this thread, but it really resonated with me - where is the best place to order from? It all just seems overwhelming.

SilenceInside · 25/06/2025 14:51

@HerbalTeal there’s no one “best place” as all regulated pharmacies sell the same product so then it’s just down to price and whether you want additional services like coaching, or whether you want a subscription service.

Have a look at https://monj.co.uk for a price comparison of regulated providers. There are big high street names, and many others. I’ve used Asda, Zava, Pharmacy2U and WePrescribe and I changed each time due to looking for a cheaper deal.

Thanks so much! I made my daughter come downstairs and watch me do it 🤣 biggest problem was being able to see what I was doing past my boobs 🙈

You asked about fiber. I have a small bowl of all bran and about 6 prunes with skimmed milk. It’s a struggle to get through it, but worth it. Not enjoyable!

im 4 weeks in and have gone right off booze (I did love my wine) and just don’t fancy eating much. The other day I had a very active day with DH (mountain biking!) and he had a huge lunch. I could only face a small starter. I’m not calorie counting but am eating less than half what I was on.

Good luck!

Thank you. I had shreddies for breakfast this morning with fruit, and then some ryvita at lunch, so I'm trying!! 🤣

Well done !!! Welcome to the club!! Hope you’re feeling ok!! I remember the jab was a bit of an anticlimax in the end then being hyper aware of every feeling / thought I had !! It does settle down if you’ve got that!!!

hope you’re feeling ok and sleep well 🤗

Thank you. I don't really feel anything at the moment. I wasn't hungry at dinner but then I might just not have been hungry!
Will see what tomorrow brings 😊

Thought I’d check in see how you’re going? Don’t be discouraged if not feeling much!! Remember it builds up and isn’t a therapeutic dose until you hit 5mg! Hope no nasty side effects for you!!

underthunderalwaysawake · 27/06/2025 14:46

Hi there, I just wanted to say I'm so glad you ordered as I felt exactly the same as you this time last year....and now I'm 6 1/2 stone lighter! (I'm also 42) I remember the uncertainty before ordering. So glad I did though. I've still got another stone maybe to go but my BMI has gone from 44 to 26....and the summer heat is so much more bearable. Good luck and well done for taking the plunge, honestly the outlay money wise is so worth it.

Emas82 · 27/06/2025 16:47

Hi all! Thank you for asking after me. I'm doing really well!
Yesterday I'd call the first proper day, and it's weird because I've felt absolutely no hunger since the jab. Nothing. I have still been able to eat, I'm not out off food luckily. But I'm more than happy with my calorie controlled options.
Yesterday I had a sort of strange tenderness around my neck and shoulders, and randomly I was hot around the abdominal area, but that's all gone today, just left with the lack of hunger which is perfect! Fingers crossed it all continues 🤞🤞🤞
