I've been calorie counting for the last 3 months 1300 calories a day it always worked for me before, but now in my early 40s and progress is so slow, I had one day at the weekend at an event I ate reasonably well chicken salad flatbread, but I did have an ice cream and stir fry for dinner at home, gained 3 pounds. It's impossible.
I have PCOS and insulin resistance so I think mounjaro would work for me. I am 15 st 7 and 5' 10.
I am due to go on holiday July 21st I'm tempted to start now too get a loss before but I'm also worried about side effects affecting our holiday, and we're away for two weeks without a grudge in the tin in a hot country so don't think I can take it with me.
Any advice from those who've been on it for a while? Do I just keep going with the current regime and maybe lose half a stone before I go and delay starting until I get back, do I start now and schedule doses so I do one the day I travel out and the day I travel home with a 14 day break?

No symptoms so far, also not hungry but I'm not really a breakfast person anyway so no real change there.
I'm anaemic so have to take high dose iron, and (sorry TMI) that can cause constipation, so maybe I won't get the loose bowels others seem to 🤷‍♀️

I will need to make a conscious effort to drink more, I've been up since 7:30 and haven't had a drink yet. Better go and get some water

Awesome good luck with your journey, this stuff is life changing. I started MJ a year ago today and am 7 stone down.

So far so good! The lack of food noise is interesting. I lost 5 stone previously and kept it off for a decade until I had DS and gained all of it back in 12 months during pregnancy and the immediate aftermath 🤦‍♂️, but to do that I had to have iron clad willpower it was a real conscious effort to eat less, avoid carbs and sugar, it was really really hard and a bit soul destroying, i became obsessed with calories and often felt hungry but forced myself to ignore it. This feels more like once I got to maintenance so I was careful but it didn't occupy my life.
I did feel like I'd been beaten up about 24 hours after jab one my whole body felt bruised but it went within 24 hours.

First weigh since starting and I'm 5.5 pounds down after a week. I need to be careful not to skip meals though, the suppression has been instant for me

That is fantastic well done @ThinkingaboutMJ

How did you find the second jab? Any more side effects?

Sorry missed this, I've had no further side effects and the suppression is good for me so I've ordered a second 2.5mg pen, the only thing is I lost ten pounds in the first 15 days and now nothing more in the next 9, I did have a very heavy period during that time and felt bloated. I'm struggling to hit 1200 calories a day a couple of days after injection I'm only hitting 800-1000 so I find it a bit odd. I'm meticulous with weighing things and counting all calories, I lost 4 stone when I was younger just by exercising and counting calories (kept it off for years but put it all back on during pregnancy!). I do need to make sure I'm hydrated enough. I've started having a myprotein iced tea in the mornings as I struggle to face breakfast that's 84 calories but 20g protein in case I'm but getting enough protein.
Oddly the only thing that seems to affect my stomach is salad!
