A thread to detail the tiniest details of your worrying side effects and share in support and guidance.

(Seriously, when I reacted badly to my first jab I felt pretty scared and lonely. I also felt self-conscious about dragging more positive threads down or scaring newbies).

So maybe ignore my tip. D&V in the middle of the night. Only once and feel fine today. So much quicker than normal in both onset and duration. Well hopefully it is over and duration point is true.

Not sure what to make of this as definitely not as bad (although didn’t feel like that at 3am!!). Will have to see how rest of the week goes - debating moving down again or perhaps missing a week just to give a bit of time for my body to recover properly.

A bit worried about half term next week - Flying to London with DS5 for a few days so can’t be dealing with these side effects then…

@Mounraine- what is the pain in your chest like? I’ve also been getting a bit of discomfort sorta under right boob - especially in the evening.

Mounraine · 19/05/2025 14:06

It was just on my left side, I think a combination of poor posture on the settee and an underwire digging in. More the rib cage than a chest pain.
It's just on the MJ I become aware of each twinge.

Watch out for gallbladder problems. They can appear on any low fat diet - also can cause pain on the back of your shoulder

@ColdTofuSandwich I just cane here to check if people had experienced increased anxiety while on the jab…
im only W1D5 - the first couple of day, i felt amazing, really positive and energised. Today im feeling very anxious and a bit low in mood. Could be unrelated though, lets see on the 2nd week goes. It would be a real shame if i had to stop!
did you feel elated at times or did you only notice the anxiety?
im not a super responder but id be happy losing steadily. Also im not on antidepressants though i was for a short time 20 years ago.

Just posted on the May starters thread but want to talk to my fellow sufferers too!

Just injected half dose and into thigh to try to reduce side effects. Will be very sad if I have to come off it as have had great reduction in food noise. I was expecting to be starving yesterday but I wasn't and struggled to eat a couple of mouthfuls of my evening meal.

I've got 2 boxes of immodium now, so I'm ready to go 🤞

BerfyTigot · 21/05/2025 07:34

@Mounraine good to hear you aren't having side effects now!

Glowingup · 21/05/2025 08:35

Had about 16 weeks of little to no side effects on 2.5. Then I took 3.75 (so glad I didn’t go straight to 5) and on the evening of the second day post jab I had absolutely awful diarrhoea that lasted for 72 hours. No vomiting but constant running to the loo and really loud gas - I won’t be able to look my neighbours in the eye as I’m pretty sure it was audible through the walls of my terraced house. Imodium did nothing for it.

I was due to jab today but I’m going to delay until Friday to let my stomach calm down a bit. I will also be taking just half a dose of 2.5 so 1.25 as there is no way I can hack another episode like that. If I feel okay I will take another 1.25 four days later so just spacing my dose as clearly my body can’t handle larger doses (I know that 3.75 is not a large dose in the grand scheme of things but clearly my body is quite sensitive).

Also experienced the lovely sulphur burps for the first time this time around. Delightful.

On the positive, I’m down just over 30 pounds, am 0.5 BMI points (1.5 kg) from a healthy weight and have stopped uncontrollable binge eating.

I had this on my 4th week of 2.5mg. Couldn’t go to work, felt dreadful. I took a 10 day break before trying 2.5mg again and this time- no repeat. So I will go to 3.75 tomorrow as can’t face 5mg yet. I suspect the diarrhoea was also triggered by something oily I ate. My suppression has been less good this week, using a lot more willpower than before. So I think I now need more.

That is a relief that you didn’t have a repeat of it. Let us know how you get on with the 3.75. I don’t think I ate anything oily but I will be careful. I will also have to use my willpower as my appetite is coming back after the diarrhoea- there was one day where I could only face a couple of slices of toast all day.

After my third jab I had sudden onset anxiety and depression. I had a mental health crisis im still recovering from 6 months later.

I was a ‘super responder’ though and lost 20lbs in 3 weeks - even the smell of food made me gag.

Im so pleased for those it works for, but 3/100 report serious mental health side effects. Which doesn’t seem to be that widely known about.

I had dreadful anxiety that started with first jab. I only took two jabs before deciding I could not continue.

For me it manifested in early hours waking from dead sleep on days 2,3 and 4 with my heart racing at 140bpm and literal waves of terror up and down my spine. There was no way I could continue, though I believe the hardy souls who do so the anxiety sometimes does lessen.

@tostaky Yes I was walloped by very low mood yesterday, out of nowhere, but enough to ring alarm bells and to make me think i couldn’t carry on if that continued. It was a bit of a shock tbh. I'm on W3D6 so still on 2.5. I'm not a super responder in that I am definitely still happy to eat meals so I couldn't attribute it to low blood sugar etc etc.

Today however I feel absolutely fine 🤷‍♀️ so I have no idea what's going on! I'm going to track any bad days and check my levels in Shotsy so I can see if there's a pattern and can then be prepared for it. It's also made me decide not to jump to 5 straightaway and to try maybe 3 for my next pen.

Reading other threads, it seems that sometimes the anxiety/low mood/fatigue lifts after a few weeks. Are you eating enough and taking electrolytes etc as all these things can have an impact? In any case I sympathise as it's horrible having that anxiety and feels quite overwhelming.

Chilldrill · 23/05/2025 14:57

Well I injected 5 yesterday, but I did it just before bed, no problems today slept well. So I think it was injecting in the morning caused the problem. So I'll be doing that next week.

tostaky · 23/05/2025 16:31

@GeraniumRoseblush i had only one day where i felt extremely low. If that is all it is, then thats fine…. But if it becomes recurrent then i will have to make a decision!
