Myjuniper - pissed off

I am very overweight, classed as obese . I have finally realised that I can't lose weight consistently on my own - I don't have the willpower, so I signed up to myjuniper last week and asked for mounjaro.

Had to send my passport info plus full length selfies - very hard to do! Was wearing pyjamas which they had said was fine.
They took the money the next day but have left me hanging on for a week waiting for a consultation with the pharmacist. Then very late this evening I suddenly got a message from the pharmacist saying my photos weren't good enough - they wanted 2 more showing my stomach 'unclothed'. Had to get DH to help this time. I did it though and sent them in, thinking it would get them moving, but now I feel annoyed and embarrassed, why was this necessary? Nobody sees that except me! The pharmacist didn't reply back after that.

I feel they are being intrusive and also unresponsive. It is also not on to take the money and go silent for a week, surely they should only take it when they are about to dispatch the product.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

@Wonkypictureframe thank you for explaining. I was very confused.

But I still wouldn’t be giving anyone any money up front apart from a consultation charge that could even be deducted from the cost of the pen. It just seems so grasping otherwise. There’s the op for example - she may go to another provider and end up paying there whilst the original company she went to is sitting on her money.

Edited

Yes, you'd be paying heftily for the privilege of not paying upfront basically, if you were based somewhere that you could easily access the medication via a range of providers. The amount you'll lose in interest if the money is refunded is far, far less than that premium.

I havent given it that much thought. Sorry. It’s just not important enough.

Well the point is that the price and financial cost is massively important to a lot of people, maybe not you but I would say most people on MJ are very conscious of the price, make sacrifices to afford it and don’t want to pay more than they have to. Most people probably can’t afford to spend £100+ more a month than many of the more no-frills pharmacies’ prices.

I’ve used Asda, Cloud and Oushk, all major, reputable pharmacies in the WLI business, and all are pay upfront. It’s not any sort of red flag, it’s totally normal. It’s also good business sense or you lose lots of man hours to people who fill in consultations, get approved by a pharmacist and then decide to buy elsewhere. But for those who want a more bespoke experience then they can pay the excess to have all that, like you are doing.

Anyway OP, I don’t think Juniper are one of the cheaper suppliers anyway (forgive me if I’m wrong and they’ve changed) so I would go with somewhere like Cloud, Oushk, Pharmulous. Just a t-shirt and leggings will be fine for pics for them, I’ve never had to send my exposed stomach, I’ve just had DH take a full length photo in a fitted top and leggings.

They rejected me and said I needed to have my weight independently verified. They also took my money and took ages to tell me that they wouldn’t prescribe. I’m grateful though because they were super expensive so I got my money back and went with Simple Online Pharmacy who have been great and so much cheaper - with a discount code my 5mg pen is £115 and pretty sure Juniper was £180.

Simple price match btw. They even price matched me 3 pens of 15mg for £135 each. You can order 3 pens of the same strength or order 2 pens of different strength.

Full calculation:

On simple's website it's £605.95 for 3 pens at 15mg.

They gave me £200.95 off so 3 pens for £405 which is £135 a pen.

Then £4 postage instead of £30 postage with medicine marketplace.

Excellent - good to know!

My supplier took the money and took ages to approve, I was a bit alarmed id been scammed at first but they did come through in the end. I emailed them after a week and kept on threatening to go to my bank eventually. I reckon they've been inundated with people trying to get it by scamming and this is their way of putting folk off, I wouldn't take it personally op. Keep emailing them asking for updates I'm sure they'll get back to you, and don't let it put you off mounjaro it's a great way to lose weight, especially if you suffer from food noise, there are usually side effects but these are mild in the people I know who have taken it my worse one was was constipation, plus slight nausea all worth it for nearly two stone off in 10 weeks.

I do think that sending photos of a naked stomach is a little unsettling. And I can see why you feel it is an invasion of privacy. Personally I would have taken a clearer shot that wasn’t naked and hope for the best!
Understand why you are upset
it is worth it. Can you try and reframe.

how much do you weight? How tall / bmi?

lots of luck op who ever you decide it’s life changing
