Who have you got it through? I signed up to Juniper last night, waiting to hear back from them

FeyreandRhysand · 11/05/2025 18:24

Yep, it’s the best. Wish I could be on it forever! Almost 4 stone down since Sept with no trying, although it’s slowing down so about to up my exercise.

@Mummyboy1 I use Zava & they’re super quick to approve

SusanSometimes · 11/05/2025 18:27

It's astonishing, isn't it? I'm six weeks in and 6kg down already, much of it in the first week. I just don't think about food anymore the way I used to. The appetite suppression is so good I'm staying on the lowest dose for the time being.

Any reason you went through Juniper? I understand that Boots offer it as well which is who I was thinking of…

Mummyboy1 · 11/05/2025 21:55

@MoominMai it was one of the first ones that came up when I was searching online. I'm still waiting for the consultation so will see if I do go through them.

DontKnowHelpMe · 11/05/2025 21:57

Is it just because it’s an appetite suppressant or does it do other stuff as well (regulate hormones or whatever controls weight loss)?

Elfie23 · 11/05/2025 21:58

It’s literally changed my life!
I get mine from Oushk, they use Royal Mail for delivery so I always know when it’s coming and you can choose the day on Oushk.
Great customer service too.

I’m on my 7th injection (next one is Tuesday) and I’m 20lbs down - so pleased x

Pretty much in a nutshell. Importantly, I believe it also helps process insulin more effectively which is essentially a fat storing hormone so in combination with its appetite suppression qualities, a bit of a power duo giving such amazing results to people. I haven’t tried it myself though just fascinated by it lol.

healthybychristmas · 11/05/2025 22:46

It does two things. One is that it stops you thinking of food as a treat. In fact you don't really think about food much at all. So it affects the reward system in your brain. I found it worked not just with food but with alcohol as well and I have hardly had a drink in the last year when I was having one virtually every night. I just never ever think about it and the only times I've had a drink is when someone else has poured me one and I've not wanted to talk to them about the injections so I just sip at the drink.

The other thing it does is that it makes you feel full for much longer when you have eaten much less than normal. So I can feel full after half a slice of toast when I used to eat two slices. I think of it like how are you feel after a Christmas dinner. If someone offered you another Christmas dinner immediately afterwards you wouldn't want it and it's just the same with this.

I agree with you, OP. It's changed my life in so many ways. It's allowed me to actually live my life really and I know for definite that it's helping me extend my life.

allgrownupnow · 11/05/2025 23:37

How much do you have to weigh/bmi to get it?

icreaminbarnsley · 11/05/2025 23:40

Are you all intending to stay on it for life? If not, are you not concerned that when you stop you will put the weight back on?

Sorbetto · 11/05/2025 23:47

Soneone on Reddit was describing it so well, they were saying how it’s the first time they actually felt full and finally could experience how most people feel post meal. I really thought they hit the nail on the head, because for those who don’t have food noise all the flipping time and can just eat a normal meal and stop they just would never understand how much of a revelation experiencing that is

Putting the weight back on (or not) is the same challenge as for "finishing" any weight-loss programme. If you want to keep it off, you need to have changed your habits for the better.

mondaytosunday · 12/05/2025 01:19

I’d go on it but not approved for type 1 diabetics. Shame.

coxesorangepippin · 12/05/2025 01:27

How much do you weigh at the moment?

Really starting to be interested in mounjaro now

Hayley1256 · 12/05/2025 01:37

I started mine nearly 2 weeks ago and loving it - 7lbs down already. The craving for late night snacks and junk food have just gone! I'm easily sticking to a 1200 cal a day limit without really about thinking it. I went with medexpress and found them really quick. I'm 5'7 and was 14.7 stone

NannyPlum7 · 12/05/2025 01:43

I am so tempted but feel like it must be too good to be true and that scares me. The pancreas is not to be fucked with.

I also don’t like that people aren’t allowed to express concerns and reservations about it without being met with a wall of defensiveness

TheMeasure · 12/05/2025 08:09

Sorry, who is “not allowing” others to express concerns?
I think any perceived defensiveness is more about correcting resentful snippiness —from naturally thin people— from ill-informed people who are scared-mongering and making accusations of “cheating.”

Custark · 12/05/2025 08:12

I’m glad some people find it so useful. I tried it for 3 months and gave up because of side effects. I did everything by the book with types of food, water etc and was on lowest possible dose. It’s not for everyone.

This is why I'm asking. I started weight loss injections, lost weight and thought I'd changed habits. Went off them, to discover the very next day that nothing within me or my brain had changed at all. I hadn't changed anything, it was the chemicals/medicine doing the work. I put everything (and a bit more) back on again. The food noise, hunger, cravings all came back with a bang. I'm so tempted to go back on them to lose weight but I'm aware now that if I do, it has to be long term.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 12/05/2025 09:13

Been on it 7 weeks and have lost 21 lbs which is amazing. It's not a miracle but a tool to help you.

I've gone off sweet things apart from fruit and chocolate was my go to for a treat so I'm happy. Doubt I'll eat a dairy milk again as it doesn't appeal - dark chocolate maybe.

I've got 5 stone to lose as I was an imminent heart attack so I had to do something. Not planning on doing it forever as it's ££££, I've got a mini goal of 3 stone and I'll see what I feel like as I'm not wanting to be a size 8. I just don't want to die early for my kids.

Yes there's side effects but they are mainly caused by what you eat so if you have a greasy takeaway then expect it to affect you.

Absolutely life changing. I lost all the weight (4 stone) and I’ve been maintaining since Feb 1st. I went cold turkey off it and I’ve actually lost a few pound since stopping.

I used MedExpress, got a code off here and never looked back. Wonderful magic stuff.

LuckyCharm9 · 13/05/2025 20:14

I’ve been on it since Jan this year and have lost 4 stone! I have another stone to go until I reach my goal weight, it’s been a miracle for me. No food noise, no side effects and I’ve stayed on 5mg for the last 3 months.
I use Oushk and they offer maintenance, I feel my eating habits have completely changed so will probably maintain for a month or two and then go it alone.
