Hi all,

I have lost 2 stone with the help of mounjaro. I’ve gone from 20 stone to 18. I’m 6ft so ‘carry the weight well’ and am often met with shock if I reveal how much I weigh.

since losing two stone though there is no difference in me, no one has noticed and my clothes all fit the same. Is this normal?

I’ve lost over 10 stone. It was only at 7 or 8 stone loss that everyone started to notice.

When you have a lot to lose you are still very overweight even after losing a few stone and no one notices the difference.

I felt brilliant after losing my first 5 stone and was surprised that no one had complimented me, but when I look back at photos of that time I can see that I probably didn’t look obviously smaller yet.

I hate it when people mention my weight loss, I feel really embarrassed.

i don’t know why, it just makes me feel uncomfortable.

Because it means people are looking at you, your figure, maybe judging the fatter version. I don’t like feeling watched.
BUT it’s also normal to notice! We are human. I notice even a bit of loss on someone but don’t comment unless they talk about it.

Thank you for all of your comments! They have really helped to ground my expectations. I put 7 stone on extremely fast (2 babies in two years, covid, and being made redundant all contributed as my lifestyle dramatically changed) so understanding weight loss/ fat loss is relatively new to me.

Just to say, when I say “no one has noticed” - I mean my family lol… they definitely don’t why away from talking about weight. X

don’t worry mama bear - the harder you try the better you feel!!! wear it with confidence and people will start to turn heads. best of luck on your journey

I'm 5ft 10 and started at 21st 9lb it took 3.5 stone before anyone really noticed or at least enough to comment on it. I'd highly recommended taking photos at each stone in the same outfit as I could really see the difference in photos by 3 and 4st down but because I've lost 4st in 6 months I don't notice it day to day apart from feeling so much better.

CoastalCalm · 19/04/2025 22:42

Similar I’ve lost four stone and gone down one dress size , two if I don’t mind tightness still around the middle - my legs are ridiculously thin and arms have slimmed just kept the post menopausal tyre unfortunately and can’t exercise at the moment to try and improve it

I lost 8kg last year and no-one noticed so I hear you. I could tell the difference and the waistbands on my clothes fit more comfortably. I feel a lot fitter and stronger than I used to too.

It’s worth adding I think people comment on weight loss less than they used to. I think this is partly because it could be an indicator a of poor health. People are less inclined to infer that weight loss is always a cause for celebration when they don’t know the cause. I would only mention it if it was someone I knew pretty well.

I get asked from those who haven't seen me for a while if my shape appearance change is choice or health.

aylis · 20/04/2025 10:41

I feel very much the same. I'm 5' 6" and have lost roughly a stone and a half and I posted the other day that in photos I look no different at all. I can see the difference in every bit of my body, especially my waist, stomach and hips, but my dress size hasn't changed. It's really frustrating!

MJalltheway · 20/04/2025 10:45

Congrats on your loss so far! I also hit 2 stone loss today on MJ, and it's only in the last half a stone that I've been able to move down a clothes size. I'm 5'10" and started at nearly 16 stone. It just takes a lot initially to get through that first size drop, the kitchen roll analogy is perfect.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 22/04/2025 21:18

I started at 21st 11 at 5ft 6.

Ive lost 2.5 stone but it doesn't show as to anyone I still just look very morbidly obese.

I think I hoped it would show earlier but realistically I'm very very big! I can feel my (stretchy) dresses hang better though, but I am unlikely to need smaller clothes for a good while.

I keep hoping that with time it will come and then when I start dropping dress sizes it will speed up and all be worth it!

I think when I'm no longer obese (possibly next Feb??) it might be more obvious!

It’s all relative isn’t it? If you have 4 stone to lose, then 2 stone will be noticeable. If you have 10 stone to lose, then 2 stone is more like a drop in the ocean. I had 6/7 stone to lose, and I started noticing the difference around stone 3. People really started commenting around stone 4/5.

spanieleyes · 23/04/2025 05:39

It is a help to track your measurements, not just your weight.I don’t look much different, although clothes are definitely not as tight, but I have lost18 cm from my bust, 14cm from my waist and 20 cm from my hips!

Ayeayeaye25 · 23/04/2025 06:41

I think people comment far less now for fear of someone taking offence or incase someone is ill etc.

I have lost similar weight and sometimes I feel great other times I think this is hardly noticeable. But when I look at photos from last year I see the difference or when I try on clothes I couldn’t get into last year that now fit its good. Keep going OP I am slowly.

Adelstrop · 23/04/2025 10:37

I've lost three stone but only gone down one dress size. I do wonder if I lose the rest (another two stones) will I weigh 10 stone and still be size 18. I'm hoping not!
