No weight loss this week - but averaged 1200 calories a day ?

I tried reading online but the suggestion is that I might not have tracked accurately - but I did.

i have however eaten less healthy than usual. So some fish vegetables and salad but also crisps and even a slice of cake and some pizza. Before I was avoiding carbs.

i have increased my exercise but only a little, am I being overly hopeful to think I might still have shifted some fat but it’s not reflected in the numbers?

Regardless of what people will tell you, calories are calories. If you have been in deficit, even with the odd slice of cake or crisps, you will lose weight. I suspect you have, but the carbier / saltier / sweeter foods you’ve consumed have probably caused you to retain some water, hence why the no difference on the scales.
keep going!

Moreofabriskwalk · 11/04/2025 07:17

Yes that is possible.

It’s the first week since I started that I haven’t lost anything. I think the expense of the injections puts pressure on.

You won’t lose weight every week because loss is not linear. There may be several weeks you don’t lose, sometimes all clumped up together so that you go 2-4weeks with no loss. It really helps to accept this from the off rather than drive yourself mad when it happens. It’s the long term trend that matters, not the weekly number.

RayofSunshine18 · 11/04/2025 09:06

I have been on Mounjaro since January. I have lost a stone and a half, so not the great losses that some see but still enough to keep me motivated. There are times when i can go 2 weeks without losing anything, i wont have changed anything, stick to my calories and exercise. The scales do start moving again but just have to be consistent. Keep going!

HeavyHeidi · 11/04/2025 09:36

I seem to have a pattern of almost no loss one week and then a double the next. Give it time.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 11/04/2025 09:39

I know how frustrating it is but try not to worry about it. As someone else said, weight loss is not linear and there will be days/weeks when you maintain or (shock horror!) gain! As long as the overall trend is down, you’ll get to where you want to be eventually. Good luck!

Seaitoverthere · 11/04/2025 10:28

I lost a pound this week until this morning when it went back on so looked like I had stayed the same all week, or would have if it weren’t for me weighing daily. There is a lot of daily variations for some of us and it is much better to look at the overall trend and as long as it is going down then all is good.

LittleMissLego · 11/04/2025 10:45

I will have weeks where i seem to stall, weeks where i lost a bit more than expected and weeks where my shotsy graph is perfectly linear downwards. Sometimes its hormonal, sometimes its because ive been really focused on healthy eating and sometimes it makes no sense. I tend to increase my dose once I've had 3-4 weeks of continuous stall.

Letsnotargue · 11/04/2025 11:01

I weigh daily as well. It’s hard to not get hung up on the numbers to start with, but it really helps you see that there are always ups and downs, but as long as your average trend is down you’re heading in the right direction.

It could be salty food, general bloating, hormones, whether you’ve been to the toilet, how well hydrated you are, how much muscle you have and whether it’s tired and retaining water - all these things play a part in what you weigh in addition to the amount of fat on you. Seeing the daily up and down but the overall downward trend mentally takes the pressure off.

WeAllHaveWings · 11/04/2025 11:19

this is relevant for not losing when in calorie deficit too.

I STS this week too (first time) and can tick many of these boxes! Oh well, onward and downward.

TheBuffetInspector · 11/04/2025 11:44

It's not great to see but I'm week 9. I started at 14 stone 9.
I would say that on week 4 I was close to giving up as was only 14 stone 4.
All of a sudden, up all night weeing (goodbye extra water!) I was down to 13stone 11!

Im 13stone 3 at the moment, so that's 1 stone 6lbs loss. I seem to be stalled again, but I've had beans, porridge and lots of water...
I spent all last night farting 🤣

I'm 5'8. If I hit the 12s I'll start looking a lot slimmer.

Don't give up. You can often lose with a woosh - remember your fibre. Or as it turned out for me - Senokot!

Hope it was some of the fun boxes! 🤣

Consistency over a long period of time is what counts op, not daily or weekly ups and downs. Keep strong and keep going!

WLINewbie · 11/04/2025 11:53

So refreshing to see lots of sensible responses to this!

Keep going OP! It's totally normal although I 100% feel the frustration x

3wDavid · 11/04/2025 12:41

Just to add a personal note to my comment - I see this in myself too, without a fail any time I’ve had saltier or carbier foods. And then without a fail, a few days later - whoosh! And a big drop in weight!
I have been on MJ for 10 months now, and have lost 6 stone (40kg) and have reached my goal weight. There were ups and downs and fluctuations along the way, which is totally normal, but the medicine works. Calorie deficit works. And the results will come.

frogpigdonkey · 11/04/2025 13:41

I’ve also seen this, more with MJ than on other diets. My pattern is flat or slow losses for a couple of weeks, then 4 or 5 lbs suddenly. I’m on it since December and down 35lbs which is pretty close to 2 lbs a week. I feel the jabs take the pressure off because even when I’m ‘naughty’ it’s usually just one meal or one day then I get back on it. Trust the process and look at overall losses 😁

Arglefraster · 11/04/2025 14:40

Totally normal - I've lost nothing for 2 weeks & this week jumped down 2 kg!

Although I would say that a calorie may be a calorie but how food is processed by the body is different (thermogenesis effect of food). Giles Yeo is really interesting on this.

ThirdStorm · 11/04/2025 14:50

So frustrating isn't it. For me when my fluid intake isn't enough or my carbs get too high then I find that affects my weight loss. I use My Fitness Pal so I can really analyse what I'm putting in. Also worth you working out your TDEE. I minus off 500 and that's where I need to be for weightloss. I know monthly cycle affects some of us too (damn those hormones!) Good luck hopefully it will start again.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 11/04/2025 16:12

What’s your TDEE?

mondaytosunday · 11/04/2025 16:47

Yes as @BatteryPoweredPeacocksays weight loss is not linear and also your menstrual cycle can make you retain water.
Plot your progress in a graph and don’t worry about a few up and down weeks as long as the general direction is down.

needsnewartsyinsta · 11/04/2025 16:51

I’ve been tracking my weight for the last 30 years - when I lose weight I’ll often plateau for 2,3,4 weeks and then lose a big chunk in one go - this is without mounjaro and the same with - I’m on week 9 and had a 3 week plateau weeks 5 -8 where I lost nothing. It will always come off eventually unless you are close to goal - I think I have a set point my body really struggles to get under - unfortunately for me it’s a BMI of 30 so I’m hoping that mounjaro will help me finally get out of the obese category - even when in my 20s I was calorie counting, personal trainer 3 times a week , weight lifting and running I couldn’t get under a BMI of 28. I have PCOS and have been overweight since I hit puberty

Moreofabriskwalk · 11/04/2025 20:14

My TDEE is 1800 calories. Weightloss has slowed past month.

its good to read all the comments. Thank you. I feel like when I have dieted in the past and it starts off well but I never stick to it. Trying not to be disheartened.

Going to try not worry about fluctuations.

MsJuniper · 12/04/2025 08:09

I have done LighterLife before and even though I was eating and drinking exactly the same every single week, my weight loss fluctuated from 0.5-7lbs. I had to keep a constant eye on the bigger picture so I didn’t get disheartened.

Moreofabriskwalk · 12/04/2025 08:51

I am so glad I got all these comments yesterday because I am now heavier today and feel stodgy. Have had two coffees as thought that might help but feeling bloated now.
I had been feeling good as lost 2 stone and now just feeling very overweight again.
Have a big walk planned today so going to try forget about it.
