Hello
I am starting WLI tomorrow and need to know people’s experiences.
however I do not wish to have peoples opinions on oh it’s bad for you etc.
I know the benefits outweigh the risks for me personally
many thanks

Well done!
I had a cheeky look on the scales this morning and I've lost 4.5lbs since Friday - thrilled with that!
I definitely feel the suppression wearing off, so just got to hold it together until my next dose on Thursday evening.

I'm the same, I might shift my dose so that I have it on Friday night instead of Saturday- last Saturday I was definitely feeling snackish!!

Yes, today has definitely been back to a struggle. Looking forward to my dose on Thursday evening (never thought I would say I was looking forward to an injection haha!).
I'm trying to use my progress so far this week as an incentive to not go wild with food, but it's so hard!

That's fantastic! I'm 17lbs down and starting on 5mg on Friday. I wish I'd started months ago but I was such a skeptic at first. Glad it's going well, any side effects? The only thing I'm finding is that I'm never really thirsty so I have to force myself to drink.

Well done to you
I’ve only had a slight metallic taste as a side effect
let us know how you get on with the 5mg mines due Tuesday and I’m nervous about side effects but we will see ☺️

Been on 2.5ml for 5 weeks.
Have lost 24lbs.
It's honestly amazing.
However the first injection i had such side effects the next day that I was crying and thought I would have to go to hospital. It was a big shock. By the end of the day it had calmed right down and by the end of the first week I felt OK enough to consider taking the second shot. Which I'm glad I did as it has been progressively easier.
My suppression has been really high from the start tho. I calorie count using the nutracheck app and I do so in order to make sure I'm eating enough calories. There's been days where I've struggled to make 1000kals even with my best efforts. I aim for 1500 with 100g of protein. I find I do sometimes have to rely on things like protein shakes and bars especially on injection day when I can only eat small amounts.
The high suppression is why I haven't moved up to 5ml and am staying on 2.5 another month at least.
I'm coming up to shot 6 and I feel amazing tbh. My sleep is better, my mood is better..
I'm really happy with it.

Well done to you all - amazing results!
I've lost 12.5lbs so far - about to take my fourth jab of 2.5mg this evening. I'm really pleased with the results so far. My side effects have been mild nausea, tiredness and a very very dry mouth - which is at least encouraging me to drink plenty. The length of time that my appetite is suppressed for is definitely decreasing week-on-week, so I have a 5mg pen in the fridge waiting for me for next week. I'm also concerned about the side effects, but I'm hoping the benefits will far outweigh then.
Good luck to you all on a continual basis!

NannyOgg1341 · 21/04/2025 13:02

I took my 5mg on Friday night and I can really feel the difference. I've been having 2 meals a day so far (veggie omelette or veggie soup mid morning and then something with chicken or fish later on), on 5mg I'm finding that I'm not really wanting my mid morning meal, just no appetite at all. However if I skip the meal I feel quite nauseous later on (rather than hungry). I think it's going to take a bit of adjustment, I've been off work for easter so I suppose I'll see how I feel when I'm back in.

lovemycbf · 21/04/2025 18:21

How is everyone doing? I hit 1 stone lost today so I’m very pleased
I went up to 5mg 3 days early as I was feeling hungry a lot and on 5mg I’ve had no side effects and good suppression
keep going @everyone

@NannyOgg1341
keep meals little and have an apple or palmful of plain mixed nuts to stop the sick feeling

That's great advice :)

Has anyone else had awful sickness feeling and upset stomach on 5mg? I have felt absolutely fine until last night but started feeling sick in the early hours
I can’t go to work this morning due to the awful upset stomach 😭

I had quite a lot of nausea on days 1+2, it's settled now and I'm feeling much better. Hang in there! I can't imagine going up to a higher dose 😳

@everyone
im out I’m afraid I’m currently In A&E having had the most awful diarrhoea and sickness up to 20 times a day for a week now and the Doctor thinks it’s the mounjaro jab that’s causing it so best of luck to everybody but I’m out 👍🏻

I'm so sorry it's caused you to be so unwell, I hope you're feeling better soon xx

Winter2020 · 27/04/2025 13:38

Sorry to hear that.

I hope you recover quickly.

A lot of people suffer with the jump from 2.5 to 5mg from what I have read. (Not as extreme as your experience). It's the only time in the official dose programme that the dose doubles. It is best for people to go up slowly in my opinion, with a few weeks at 3, then 3.5 etc. Obviously that's not taking "as prescribed" but should protect people from these extreme side effects. Then any side effects people can remain on a dose or drop down one.

As well as the jump from 2.5 to 5 mg being a doubling of the dose when you injected a few days early there was already more Mounjaro in your system which added to the 5mg new dose. I would think you have overdosed for your body's tolerance.

I understand if you are done but also after a few weeks I understand if you wanted to go back to a low dose (perhaps even lower than the starter dose). E.g take 1mg or something to build your confidence.

I would encourage anyone to only increase their dose slowly. I also heard (from a doctor on a podcast) that people should be extremely careful restarting after a break and go back down to starter doses after a delay of more than a few days.

lovemycbf · 27/04/2025 16:36

I’m still In A&E waiting for a drip
