I've ordered...a couple of questions

Honest wrapping myself I feel so nervous about it. Very worried I'll feel crap on it.

Main question though, I walk a lot. 15 to 20 miles every Saturday and I'm worried I won't have the energy.

Reading this board has made me doubt my decision tbh!

Every one is different, i felt no bad effects on 2.5 but some people cant deal with 2.5 .

only 1 way to find out... you've pad for it now and have it, so go for it!

BrownJenkins · 13/03/2025 18:04

I've had more energy since starting Mounjaro. Hopefully you'll be the same.

SilenceInside · 13/03/2025 18:08

I’ve had more energy not less, which is contributed to by the weight loss now as well.

You might have days when you do get side effects. Most are minor and manageable in the context of needing to lose weight from obese to a healthy weight.

Feb2025start · 13/03/2025 18:15

I know some people felt really tired but for me I was the opposite - huge amounts of energy, bouncing out of bed in the morning etc etc! I'm on 5mg now and did have a definite energy dip right after my first 5mg jab but tbh that could have been unrelated (all my colleagues have nursery/primary age kids and bugs of various kinds make very regular appearances in our office!). I'm now two weeks in with 5mg and am back to good energy levels. Overall the only noticeable negative side effect I've had has been feeling really cold.

Everyone has a different experience so as @morbidcuriosity says you won't know until you try! Good luck 😊

Puppylucky · 13/03/2025 18:16

Fatigue is a side effect - for me anyway but only on the day after the injection. Time your jab for a less hectic part of the week and you should be fine.

Oh gosh yes the feeling cold!

I am constantly shivering. Saturday was so lovely it was 17 degrees out and I sat in the sun and was warm!

Maybe it's turning us into lizards

Bluenotgreen · 13/03/2025 18:38

I feel incredibly tired 36 to 48 hours after my jab.

I just inject to accommodate what I’m doing.

PinkArt · 13/03/2025 18:54

You might feel tired or you might have far more energy. You might have horrific side effects or you might have none. You might have suppression from day one or you might have none until you move up a dose. Without starting you can never know though. And nothing changes if nothing changes.
If Saturday is a particularly active day, why not jab on Saturday night?

FedUpandEatingChocolate · 13/03/2025 19:07

On wegovy and I've got more energy, but then crash early evening. I managed a long walk at the weekend, which I would have been too puffed to do before.

shrinkingthiswinter · 13/03/2025 19:17

Some weeks I’ve been at the gym 6 days! There’s no reason to think it’ll stop you walking

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 13/03/2025 23:32

This is all very encouraging! Thank you.

My worry is, that I sometimes get blood sugar crashes after a long walk, and can feel terrible, and on the verge of collapse.

But, as you all say, I won't know until I try. I really hope I get the energy boost sone of you talk about

PinkArt · 13/03/2025 23:36

My blood sugar used to tank in the afternoon/ evenings horribly frequently, if I hadn't eaten enough that day. It hasn't happened once since I started mounjaro.

SoreHeadAgainnnnn · 14/03/2025 00:21

You'll be fine. I walk every day. I am v tired on mounjaro, but it doesn't impact my walking. I wouldn't be able to carry a huge back pack, or carry my dog, but I can walk fine with a day pack and actually walking helps lift the energy a bit.

Tiredness mainly impacts me in the evening when I just can't stay awake late!

Bluhdyvalentinemy · 14/03/2025 00:22

Relax. Been on it for months and never had more than mild nausea. People get themselves into a frenzy

I do experience low blood sugar on mounjaro.

My tips are to take some.dextrose.sweets on the walk with you, just in case. Make sure you are hydrated, eat a little during the walk if you can, and make sure you fuel.up as soon as you r home. Even if all you can stomach in a lucosade drink.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 14/03/2025 09:19

Thanks all. I think I'll have to be realistic on how far to walk, I do 15 -20 miles at weekends.

@Bluhdyvalentinemy reading this board made me feel worse if I'm honest, so many posts of people suffering really unpleasant side effects.

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 14/03/2025 09:25

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine it's worth remembering that people post about problems, not really about going along just fine with no side effects. So what you read here is massively skewed towards people experiencing issues. I've had months now with absolutely no side effects whatsoever.

MajorCarolDanvers · 14/03/2025 09:26

Another one here with more energy.

just make sure you eat lots of protein.

Remember people are more likely to report bad side effects than good. Like writing reviews, people are quick to write bad ones.

I started 3 weeks ago (3rd jab tomorrow). Only side effects are extreme tiredness 12-16hrs later (I actually nap!) so I'm moving the time I jab so I get this at night.

My 1st jab, I felt a little dizzy after 48hrs like I was getting sick but that was it. No other side effects for me. Everyone is different and you won't know I til you try.

I also eat the same meals that I used to, just smaller portions. I don't avoid onions or fat or spice and all the rest that some avoid. I just don't snack on crap cos I don't feel like it.

I think there's no reason why can't continue to walk that much on weekends. Just make sure to keep the blood sugar levels up and eat enough. You might feel a bit weak, but as long as you aren't planning on carrying lots of heavy weights, tents etc.. with you, there's no reason why you can't keep walking. A lot of people on mounjaro find their fitness improves as they lose weight, so you might find the walking gets easier!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 14/03/2025 10:42

Thank you, I'm cautiously optimistic! Losing weight will certainly make walking, indeed any exercise, easier.

UpUpUpU · 14/03/2025 12:47

I have more energy now in that I can last a lot longer in the day. I work 12.5 hour night shifts and I used to need to snack a lot to get me through and id often have hypos too. I have not had a single hypo since starting MJ 6 months ago and I can go a full shift on just my meal break.

Early side effects for me were a headache but drinking plenty helped me.

TheChosenTwo · 14/03/2025 12:50

Other than really feeling the cold I’ve not had any side effects that I’ve attributed to the MJ.
Fuel properly for walks or any exercise and the chances are you’ll be absolutely fine.

PurpleCoo · 14/03/2025 12:55

I have walked 50 miles this week, including 2x7.5 mile walks over the weekend. This is on top of my usual 3x1 hour swims a week. Plenty of energy here. I eat all my calories and get a good balance of macros. I would probably be doing more if it wasn't so cold 🤣

flipflop76 · 14/03/2025 13:00

I feel normal on it so far. I was tired for the first two days and had quite tender feeling skin but since then I feel completely normal.
