I think you look beautifully slim @4pink1blue . You look the same size as me and my BMI is 22.6. The jeans I'm wearing are a size 10 and are a bit loose, to be honest. But as you can see I have totally lost my bum, I have the arse of a 12 year old boy 😭😭😭

well done for walking without mobility aid !! 🌟🌟

thanks @MabelSpan. Still have chunky thighs

@SilverSprings510 is that as ttc or cost. Sorry can’t R.E.M. who said why was leaving /stopping

@Timetofindme. We are all plodding so don’t give up.

we are all in a much better place

@4pink1blue I’ve said before I think you look amazing and can’t beleive you new to lose another stone + and yes 12 healthy. What I’m aiming for

Everyone looks fabulous absolutely amazing!! The weight loss is incredible no matter what has been lost. @Blondeshavemorefun you look absolutely stunning always, you don't look fat at all, you suit red BTW 😍
@4pink1blue i hate that you feel like that, you look so slim and fab, fuck BMI!! Xx
@Arraminta I have the lost arse syndrome too. Funny enough now that I am maintaining of sorts I look like I'm evening out shape wise, so glad about that. I think our journey continues and as we lose the hardest fat to lose, visceral, our bodies change again. I was reading an article about how to activate brown fat (?) With certain foods, and this burns visceral. I've probably talked utter shite here and misread it haha but it sounded good this morning when I was on my first coffee and one eye open. 🤣🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/04/2025 16:57

What height are you @4pink1blue and weight. Maybe check a diff bmi chart as you look amazing

poppym12 · 26/04/2025 17:16

Apparently I need to lose another 15lb to get to BMI 24.7. meh. I might get there eventually but as of now, I'm feeling quite ok and 'normal' sized. I'd still like my thunder thighs to be smaller and I'm not happy with the upper arms but I'm wearing clothes I didn't think I'd ever get back into. I can't afford to buy any smaller ones and I'd still panic I was going to regain the weight.

I'll be on the thread for a good while yet.

To be honest, I've never had much of a bum, and have always had slim thighs. It was always the visceral fat around my middle that was the problem and I reckon I've lost most of my 3 stones from my abdomen.

I actually had an extended tummy tuck about 5 years ago which improved my stomach a lot (and repaired the 4" separation in my stomach muscles). But they never remove visceral fat in a TT as it's dangerous. But now I can see the full results of my TT at last which is lovely.

Hi all, I’m an OG poster- now a lurker as simply can’t keep up with you all! I pop in to read a few times a week and am thrilled you all still post and chat so much. Even though I don’t participate it really motivates and helps so thank you for being so on it. I feel a bit guilty I can’t be more of a contributor when I see your musings about where we all went!

I’m plodding on. On 10mg still have about 1.5 stone to go- have lost just under 4st far. I’m losing about 0.5- 1 lb a week and am ok with the slow progress. I’ve only lost about 7 pounds since Christmas but my shape has changed massively so not going up the doses yet- letting my body catch up.,I’ll keep on keeping on and probably stay on MJ long term for maintenance- terrified of getting fat again, it made me feel physically and mentally exhausted.

4pink1blue · 26/04/2025 17:41

I'm only 5'3 unfortunately. I've checked on NHS bmi calculator and it's the same. Not sure whether to keep going or to start to wean off? I'm happy as a 12 although I have a roll of fat round my tummy which doesn't seem to be shifting so not sure it's worth carrying on to get to 'healthy ' BMI or not. Arghhh!! Losing the weight was supposed to be the hard part...not deciding when to stop 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/04/2025 17:47

You are lighter than me. And slimmer than me. People who know you must think wow. As (and don’t mean to be rude) you were big /fat

and I hate the f word

but you look so amazing now. So different that seems insane you need to lose another stone + to get into high healthy bmi

the pics you did the other week of start and now are amazing @4pink1blue

OP posts:
4pink1blue · 26/04/2025 17:59

Lol 😆 it's not rude....its the truth!! I was huge 😔 I just feel a bit in limbo to be honest. I'm happy with how i am now but i feel like I should be in the healthy BMI. Like I've failed if I don't make it there. Urgh! What should I do?? I don't want to be skinny, just healthy and I feel like I am now.

weaselyeyes · 26/04/2025 18:18

No one who's lost 8 stone should feel they've failed @4pink1blue, that's just silly! I don't think being a size 12 is a marker of anything really - it would be tiny for some, big for others, and just depends on build. I think you just need to decide on your goal and stay there. You've lost more weight than anyone on the thread, and much faster, so I can't imagine it would be that difficult for you to get to the top of a healthy BMI if you wanted. You look fabulous now, but I don't think you'd look skinny if you lost the rest of the weight either. In general, you could say you'd probably be a bit healthier if you lost the rest, but it's a population level guide, not an instruction for individuals. On an individual basis, you're not suddenly healthy the moment you get to 25 and you're unhealthy before, it's all a balance of risks and probabilities.

I'm at 24 BMI now and have plenty of podgy areas left - a lot of which is flab and probably won't go, but some that are just stubborn, but I'm much older than you so have less capacity to reduce down nicely. Personally I'm going to aim for about 22.5-23 because I think it will give me a margin for error. It's not so much about where I end up as that I don't want to be able to gain a few pounds - and then a few pounds more - because I didn't have a clear upper threshold.

So I think you just have to decide where you will feel comfortable and what you can stick with, but telling yourself things like you feel as bad as back in August because you're still technically overweight just sounds bonkers to me! You've done all the hard work here, you can decide what to do - a BMI scale isn't in charge of you either way.

Weepixie · 26/04/2025 18:18

@4pink1blue have a look at this different method of calculating a healthy BMI. It’s the one I’m working buy because I know if I applied the old approach to BMI calculations I’d be way to thin.

I can understand where @4pink1blue is coming from as we have a set thing in our heads to where we would like to be

as you all know I struggle to see that I’m slimmer. Obv I know I am as 5s + down but I still don’t really see it

and I want to be in 12’s and 11s as that is what I was 20yrs ago and when lost weight originally

I look at @4pink1blue and tbh anyone’s pics before/now and still wow amazing loss

to lose almost 8s is incredible

1SillySossij · 26/04/2025 19:13

I am so pleased for all of you who have done so well and are a svelte version of your former selves!
I am only half way to goal, but I've lost an Irish Setter and am looking and feeling so much better!

SilverSprings510 · 26/04/2025 19:33

@Blondeshavemorefun yes for TTC, not cost. I’ve actually not really noticed the cost of MJ tbh, probably because I was spending so much on crap before! Although I have noticed the cost of all the new clothes I’ve had to buy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/04/2025 20:01

Well done @1SillySossij. It’s all a loss - did you start in aug or join us as sone have as we are apparently the nicest friendliest month 💖

agree the cost is an and isn’t an issue

obv a cost and don’t want to pay this every month forever. Equally when cutting down on other food /snacks it’s not a huge extra cost

fingers crossed ttc

Timetochange24 · 26/04/2025 20:11

@4pink1blue you look amazing! I'm also 5 foot 3 and about a stone lighter than you at the moment but my profile is definitely not as slim as yours. Even after weight loss we all carry it differently (you're always going to weigh more than someone with the same waist size who has smaller 🍈🍈)

Also, I think I was bigger than this the last time I was this weight. I do wonder if part of it is extra skin? A lot of it is still there and will add a few lb even if it's starting to shrink a bit.

@Blondeshavemorefun you're also looking 🔥 - I can definitely see the difference.

I've just been for a dog walk up a hill that would have had me all out of puff not so long ago but today it was the nosy dog slowing me down while she sniffed everything she passed. I'll add that as a nsv.

Azuresky68 · 26/04/2025 20:38

Really enjoyed catching up on today's posts!

weaselyeyes · 26/04/2025 20:47

I think we all have ideas about ourselves, our bodies, eating, weight, self-worth etc that are a bit mad - otherwise none of us would be here, we'd all have managed to regulate ourselves in spite of all the pressures around and within us. But to me one of the big benefits of this thread is that when someone else says something that's a bit mad - even if we've thought it about ourselves - it's so much easier to see it as such. And although we can all make changes to our diet and exercise, trying to change our outlook and ideas about ourselves is just as critical. It's not about being judgemental about them, just that if we go oh, well that's how I am, then we'll never shift. I really want to think differently about myself and the role of food and weight in my life, even though it's really hard. When I see any of us putting ourselves down in the face of having made massive and successful changes, I want to speak out - amazing personal changes should be celebrated and reinforced and boy, people on here have made some fantastic changes! 😀

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm sorry for being a whiney brat! Just struggling with my self image. Thank goodness for the lovely August ladies ❤️
Off for a 12 hour shift at work now. Urgh!

Slimhopes · 27/04/2025 09:35

Morning everyone - love the photos, you’re all looking amazing and what a difference ! I’m just plodding on, still on 15 mg and will be here for several more months as I’m losing at a pound a week. I’m pleased to be at bmi 26 exactly so the next pound will take me to 25 something which will feel thrilling lol.
I’m 9 st 7 lbs (5ft) and originally aimed for 8st 5lbs just to take me into a comfortable bmi bracket so if I put on a few pounds at Christmas or holidays I don’t get close to the overweight bracket but part of me is now thinking I’d like to be 8st. I know the bmi calculator isn’t great but it’s what I’ve used as my guide so persevering with that for now.
It might be impossible to get to the lower weight or it doesn’t look right so will see how it goes. I generally feel happy that I look better with clothes but am aware of still being a round apple shape.
i really appreciate this group - although I don’t say much! - as it helps seeing people from similar stage/struggles and being at maintenance at a similar time too. I’m nervous about maintenance as I’ll taper down doses but then stop completely and can’t afford to do this long term. I look at social media and see some people say they’re just putting it back on again when they stopped but equally I’m seeing people saying they’ve maintained without MJ. Hope that’s all of us.
