Hello wonderful people!

Looking forward to hearing how we’re all getting on with your Mounjaro journey, and the general good chat!

I’ve lost a small dog. Has anyone seen it? Next goal for this week: goodbye Kenwood stand mixer! 😂

I have definitely felt this @Mounjaroday. Two years ago I went from 122kg to 95kg. The thrill of seeing the scales drop below 100kg for the first time in maybe 20 years was enormous, but then I sort of ... freaked out. I found it really hard to stay on track, and although the first 17kg felt easy, the next 20kgs felt impossible and I convinced myself that 95kgs was fine and I could maintain my weigh at that level.
Well, here I am. I piled back 15kgs and the rate of increase seemed to be getting faster. This time, I am going to take it more slowly and set small incremental targets. I've also joined a gym for the first time in my life, at 60, and I'm going to set new fitness targets with each 5kgs lost.
It's weird, but for me, planning a whole lifestyle change feels less daunting than that 2 years ago target of losing 40kgs.

HoratioBum · 11/03/2025 07:14

It's our heads that screw us up most for sure.

Another day, another plateau. I've been the same weight now for a week. It's quite demoralising.

The odd thing about this is that on any other diet I've been on when I've controlled my calories to 1200 the weight has dropped off steadily.

I'm now W3D6 and since I started on MJ appear now to have gained weight.

I'm tracking calories, drinking 2 litres of water a day, eating my protein and walking 10000 steps at least.

I will battle onwards because I know it's not linear, I can feel some changes in my body and so on. But I'm REALLY hoping that going up to 5mg will kick start proper weight loss for me.

I know it's vain and all in my head but seeing the scales drop down gradually- even if slowly- really does motivate me.

Even though I don't have a great appetite at the moment and little food noise, I'm starting to get the sullen ' ah what's the point' voices in my head.

Thisshirtisonfire · 10/03/2025 23:08

I've got a lot to lose too! It can be demoralising.
I've only done one 2.5 jab so far as it took ages for the prescription to come through.
I've already lost 4lbs in 4 days.. so I should be happy but weighing myself was a shock. I've got around 6 stone to lose. I can't believe I let it get this bad.
It's going to be a long road ahead.
The day after I injected was very hard with side effects. I really hope it's not like that every time I inject. I don't know if I'd be able to continue.
I'm getting good suppression though. I really have to force myself to eat and I've barely made 1200 kal each day. On the first day I think I only managed 500!

I wondered if anyone has decided to stay on 2.5 for their next order instead of moving up to 5?
Is there any benefit to doing this? Does it lessen side effects if you move up doses slower?
I read on this thread that a few of you were wondering whether to stay at 2.5 for another month, has anyone decided to do that for sure now?

Me! 2nd pen due for delivery this week and I've stuck with 2.5mg pen. I've had great suppression, zero side effects and have lost 14lbs by wk3 weigh in. I think I'd only move up ⬆️ f weight loss slowed/stopped.

Warmautumnbreeze · 11/03/2025 07:24

I've ordered a 5mg pen for my second one because towards the end of my first week I felt extreme hunger by day 5. This second week though I have not experienced that, so I'm doubting my choice.

How much does everyone feel is a decent loss each week? I only lost 2lb this week, having stuck to below 1400 call each day, no alcohol now for 2 weeks. In total I've lost 6.5lbs in 2 weeks. Was expecting larger losses tbh but obviously any loss is better than more gain which I'd been doing (half a stone every year for the last 6 years!).

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 11/03/2025 07:40

Good morning!

A day late with my check in, I honestly don't know where my day went yesterday.

Sw:17st 2lb
Cw:16st 8lb

Which means I lost 2lb last week bringing my total to 8lb in 3 weeks.

I'm more than happy with the steady lost, to be honest I'm noticing it more in my clothes. I'd had a week off work and put my trousers on for the first time yesterday and they were hanging off me. I've just ordered a smaller size.

Decided to try jabbing in my thigh this week, I won't be doing that again. It hurts and it's left a bruise. Back to tummy next week.

My 5mg pen was eventually delivered Sunday after sending them an email so is all ready to go. I'm definitely going to do the gd as I can't quite believe how much is left over in the pen.

Have a great week everyone and a massive congratulations on all your successes 😊

Febnewbie · 11/03/2025 07:44

I decided to move my injection day back to Tuesday because I do my PT weights session on Tuesdays and I struggled with energy last week with it

Food noise yesterday was awful and it really made me worry about coming off MJ - which is ridiculous as I still a way to go before worrying about that!

@Warmautumnbreeze I think it depends on a lot of factors. Big one is how much you have to lose and also how tall you are. I am personally happy with 1-2lb off a week but I am short so even relatively small amounts are quite noticeable on me

sweetpickle2 · 11/03/2025 07:45

Jab day! W3D1-

SW 102.8
CW 99 (broke the 100kg barrier, hurrah!)
GW 89

Have also lost 2 inches off my waist.

You're right. I'm a little taller than average and have 3 stone to lose, so perhaps 2lb per week is reasonable.

Zibb · 11/03/2025 08:41

Logged my lowest weight in 2 years today! I think I might even reach 100kg by the end of the month which would be amazing.

Shefliesonherownwings · 11/03/2025 08:48

Hi all, hope everyone is going well.

W2 done and 1lb off. Im actually fine with that because i was on my period for the whole week and had a rotten cold so felt rubbish and definitely didn’t make the best food choices.

DH has now joined me and did his first injection yesterday, we are definitely each others worst enemies in terms of making bad choices so hopefully with both of us on it, we can really get into a much healthier lifestyle for the long term. Anyone else doing it with a partner?

I have 3st to lose too - I try to think of it in % terms, each lb is a bit over 2% of what I am trying to lose

Everyothernamewasalreadyinuse · 11/03/2025 09:29

I know what you mean about seeming to still have a mountain to climb.

The only thing that is keeping me going is that i am 5 weeks into this and still going - and not struggling to keep going.
The thought months ago that i would have been able to stick to a diet for this amount of time (i wouldn't have - i would break after about a week) and not be constantly thinking things like, if i eat nothing but boiled eggs for two days i could treat myself to a takeaway on Saturday, constantly thinking about how much i could get away with eating, in an almost obsessive self sabotaging way, i would not have believed it.

This feels, Well normal. It is very odd. I am a mindless eater, a constant mindless grazer normally and usually when i am on a diet, my food thoughts go into hyper drive.. all i can think of is what can i eat, how much, and when can i have it.

To think that 5 weeks have passed and it seems calm and natural ( and has not seemed as long as a life sentence) is in itself a miracle😂

roshi42 · 11/03/2025 09:43

Morning all! I took my 5th dose from my first pen before the weekend - I bent a couple of needles but just about managed!

I have my second 2.5 pen in the fridge... so far I've been having enough suppression/impact to eat sensibly and have lost a stone, so I felt no point moving up if it's working.

Although I'm feeling hungry today! Bit nervous I maybe should have gone for the 5 pen. Has anyone else done the same? And has anyone increased their dose using a 2.5 pen... i.e. jabbing twice for a double dose? Is that okay, do we know?

Could it be constipation? I hear some people struggle with that on mounjaro.. it slows down your digestive system. This could be a reason you aren't seeing weight drop off yet
I'm finding i really need to drink loads of water to keep things going well. But I am losing. I've lost 7lbs in my first 4 days! Which i know must be water weight but it's still quite shocking.

Were you in calorie deficit before you started the mounjaro?
I think the more dramatic losses come when people went from eating very badly to eating very low calorie suddenly in the first week.
If you were eating healthily previously your losses will probably seem smaller..
But I think that's because people like me who just went from eating terribly to eating healthily in that first week, lose loads of water weight that our bodies were holding.

Warmautumnbreeze · 11/03/2025 10:41

Not particularly @Thisshirtisonfire but also I guess my diet wasn't terrible.

I wondered about going down to 1200 cals to try to increase my losses, but in the past I've found that such a low cal intake left me feeling dizzy and light headed.

How many cals per day is everyone eating and how did you work it out?

Mounjaronewbie25 · 11/03/2025 11:04

Hit a new milestone this morning. Had a mid week check on the scale and am now in the 13s !! Haven’t seen a 13 on the scale since 2019

Mounjaroday · 11/03/2025 11:47

Hope you are all well

WK2 D5

Its going well apart from
headaches at night, fine all day but I seem to develop them at night. Anyone else?
No other side effects, I was so worried about them that I delayed my start.

Definitely upped my water since starting but maybe not enough?

Mounjaroday · 11/03/2025 12:06

Weigh in day!

W7D1
SW: 103.9kg
CW: 93.7kg (=1.2kg loss from last week).

Total loss so far = a small air conditioning unit!

Next target: 91.2kg. Then I’ll have lost 2 stone.

Must. Stay. Focussed!

2lb IS a decent loss. That's the recommended amount to lose each week for a healthy rate of loss. To lose weight faster you risk gallstones and loose skin. My goal is to lose 1kg a week, which is about 2lbs. If I stick to goal I will be 70kg by 1st August and the lightest I have weighed for many years, and I look very slim at that weight as I'm an hourglass. That's fast enough! I don't want to risk my health to go faster... I will look much better and be healthier than I am now in 5,10,15 Kg time. It's not a sprint to the finish line

mysparkleismissing · 11/03/2025 14:06

Weigh day for me, w5 d5

I've lost 1.1kg - 2.4lbs

Total is 10.4lbs in 5 weeks (plus a bit before I started jabbing)

I thought I'd sts and was super grumpy

I've got a 5mg pen to start on Friday. I'm not sure I've made the right choice going up to 5mg, any thoughts wise people in my phone....

YY to this.

Also loosing weight quicker means loosing muscle mass. That’s the last thing you want.

Im on Wk4 2.5mg

SW 17.3 stone/lbs
CW 16.6
-11lbs

i saw losses first and second week but week three was frustrating. Stayed the same weight, i went up and down a pound around my P but since that started, ive lost the 5lbs so all in all 11lbs in 4 weeks. Very happy with that 🙂 seems so blumming easy to follow this healthy eating plan without the food noise. If only i could get rid of that forever!

ive gone for 5mg next pen. Planning to do the GD
