Started with BMI 42, been on Mounjaro for 2 months, but haven't lost any weight. Done 2.5 (4x doses) and 5 ml (fourth dose tomorrow). Clothes feel better, but scales are not moving. No side effects. Shall I persevere? Any of you who did and started loosing weight later on? Thanks

No-one seems to have mentioned this but drinking lots of water is important for reducing water retention, aim for at least 2l a day. Always helps me shift some weight

Well if your clothes are looser you are slimming down!

Feeling rubbish today. My gp changed me from semiglutide tablets to mounjaro in March, because although my hba1c dropped a lot, i wasnt losing weight. Now it's been 4 weeks on 2.5mg, and 6 on 5mg Mounjaro. The pharmacist called me today to say they won't increase the dose because I've not lost any weight nor have my hba1c reduced. In fact they have increased slightly. I now need to see a diabetes team to discuss options. I've read everywhere that higher doses are sometimes what's needed. Im 100kg, 50yrs old, menopausal, and been overweight my whole adult life. I have arthritis in my hip and back , waiting for a hip replacement, which they won't do til I lose weight. Unfortunately I am in constant pain and exercise is impossible. I really only eat one meal a day, but i was like that before I began mounjaro. My mental health is suffering. I feel like I'm the only one in the world that this medication isn't working for.

Because the drug doesn’t make you lose weight, under eating does. So she needs to reduce her cals, using the appetite suppressant and feeling fuller to enable that. Yes she needs to go up, but it is a therapeutic dose. For everyone.

Under eating without the drug will also make us lose weight so why are we all spending money on something which we can do ourselves anyway? I’m just thinking out loud

Because obviously if it were possible for us to maintain a calorie deficit long term without help we would already be doing it?? The fact that we can't, most of us having tried and failed multiple times, and yet we can maintain it easily on Mounjaro is evidence of why we need Mounjaro. If you don't, cool, but that's obviously not a universal experience.

2.5 did nothing for me. Slow loss on 5. Really started to shift from 7.5 onwards.

Same! And 12.5mg is like heaven!

Because I couldn't do that myself! Ever! ... well, sometimes I could calorie restrict and loose weight, but I'd end up giving up at some point and overeating again!

Mj helps you stick to, and succeed at, a calorie controlled diet. Without it I always failed to reach my goal weight. Now I'm at goal already!
