My amazing auggies ladies 💖 - another thread and heading for 6mths in !!!

Be proud of us all.

We conquered our first Christmas and many of us sts or lost. Which is a first.

Those who gained it was 1-2lbs (minus the lady who ate her family and gained 18lbs) 😂😂 and the gain has come off

So to a new 2025 - some are getting near their goal and thinking about maintenance

Some still have a way to go to get to their happy weight

Some are on the highest dose of 15

Some are 5 and below

Everyone welcome

Morning all, sorry I am struggling to keep up at the moment! Hope everyone is doing OK.

I think I have broken the 86kg/13st7lb barrier. Weighed in at 85.5kg/13st6lb this morning, fingers crossed this is the beginning of a whoosh to make up for the stall!

I'll try to catch up with everyone's progress through the day

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2025 09:40

I don’t do clicks either. Just the Amount

it’s just hard when ordering as have to order couple weeks in advance and not sure how I will feel

or is 12.5 is working for me

last week I lost weight but sure as felt awful week before on 15

I feel @Azuresky68 that things are tightening up and I should get a foot in the door so to speak

((hugs)) for other issue

@owlyboosorry for crap night

well done @WorriedRelative for lb loss

@Blondeshavemorefun I agree now the new rules have come out I wouldn't be faffing around switching to much. I think picking a provider you're happy with for maintenance is a good idea and sticking with them. As I should imagine, every time you now switch you'll have to go through the same as a new starter and almost prove the last provider did its job properly which as you get closer to a healthy weight starts to become harder especially if it was before the new rules when they didn't have to do a video call etc.

I mean we might all have to do that even with our current providers but I don't think they're going to call themselves negligent and stop providing as wouldn't look very good on them!

Weepixie · 05/02/2025 09:51

@Azuresky68

still feel crap and I am looking forward to titrating down

I’ll go back down with you. I feel awful as well and to add insult to injury my bloody hair is coming out. I ran my fingers through it this morning and was left with more in my fingers than there should have been. Granted it could also be due to the surgery I had 7 weeks ago, a grade 3 rectocele repair, but I had minimal blood loss and it was done by spinal anesthesia which I’m not aware causes the side effects a general can cause. Anytime in the past my hair’s shedded it’s been when my ferritin level was very low after surgery/blood loss but my heart is telling me that this time is the weight loss.

Anyhoo Im due to jab tomorrow but I’m going to delay it for 3 more days and do a 7.5 instead of playing around with doses inbetween that and 10. I’ve learned my lesson.

………………………………………

In general and Re my arm lift I mentioned a few days ago - I know a couple of people replied to it and I’m not really sure of the cost and any figures I can find are only relevant to the upper arms whereas I want my lower arms done as well. Will keep you posted though. Oh and I intend to have it done here in Wales.

And regarding plastic surgery as a few people commented - I’m very low maintenance when it comes to personal care and the most I do is moisturize my face after after washing it with water except when I’ve had make up on. And from the neck down I use a body lotion every day. But, I’m having my arms done because I really don’t like them and as soon as I can after that I’m having my tummy and mons pubis done. I’m doing it for me and the surgery doesn’t worry me. I’ve had loads of surgery for medical issues and nothing will ever be as hard as the massive surgery I had for ovarian cancer. And it’s partly because of that surgery/6kg ovarian cyst that I’ve been left with an apron that needs dealt with but I’m not going to lie and say the thought of having a lovely tummy isn’t motivating me either. My mons pubis is very flabby and yes if I’m ever sexually active again, and I’d like to be, I really don’t want it getting in the way of my other lady bits.

I’m grateful not to have cancer, I’m thankful everyday it was caught so early, and I hope it never comes back because with my very rare cancer it would be curtains for me. But even having been down that road I want more - I want nicer arms and a nicer tummy as well.

Boobs - they’re like elephants ears after breast feeding 5 children but it’s nothing good bras can’t take care off so they’ll be left as they are.

Weepixie · 05/02/2025 09:55

Sorry, just to add - Owlyboo, what are the new rules you’ve mentioned please.

owlyboo · 05/02/2025 10:07

@Weepixie obviously no idea if all is accurate but this is the gist. news.sky.com/story/amp/tougher-rules-on-weight-loss-jabs-after-people-with-eating-disorders-get-prescriptions-13302737

Motnight · 05/02/2025 11:21

@Weepixie that is shit about your hair 😞. I've been taking nutrition geeks Biotin Growth supplements from Amazon. Not sure if they are making a difference or not but so far no increase in my hair loss

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2025 13:53

Oh @Weepixie sorry to hear about cancer. That sounds tough

the link , there are several threads about it and why I’m getting twitchy who to choose for maintenance and when to swap ans don’t went to be cut off in 2mths time if bmi is 26/27

20bloodypounds · 05/02/2025 15:15

I'm catching up after a few days (friends staying and not a moment to get on mumsnet).

@Blondeshavemorefun the thigh gap and the teriffic waist - fantastic!

I love that these threads have everything on them - dogs, dating, diets....

@NippyNinjaCrab loved your photos of your spotty creatures. My visiting friends had their border terrier with them - he is really just like a teddy bear, including the growler in his tummy.

@weaseleyes I've had to accept that in my mid 60's I'm unlikely ever to have a taut smooth belly, and that my boobs will never again be perky. But also, our entire body regenerates itself within seven years, and I'm kind of hoping that if I lose this weight and maintain the loss, that my regenerated body will recognise that I don't need all that extra skin, and that over the years I will gradually get smaller. And if not in the next 7 years, then certainly in the following 7 years. By which time I'll be in my 80's, with the falttest belly and the perkiest boobs that any 80 year old has ever had Grin

Re new rules / maintenance: That has paniced me a bit. I switched to Oushk several months ago because of their maintenance plan. I've ordered another pen today so I have something in the wings. I'm fine with the requirement for additional photos or weight recordings, but the access to medical records has me worried. I live in Scotland and our GP records are available here, but the system is not easily transferrable to England. (I know this from trying to get a pharmacy prescription for antibiotics for sinusitus).

@Weepixie Flowers

morbidcuriosity · 05/02/2025 15:31

I always had it in my mind to switch to oushk for the delivery day thing, as I work shifts , weekends, nights, and then sometimes stay away from home for a few days etc.. and now I'm a bmi of 27 with still a full pen in my fridge, thought now is the time..
I think I shall stay with them now, but may try a cheeky extra pen if I see any good discounts..

I didn't have a bad night's sleep I am working night shifts, so awake all night and sleep all day.. but its bloody freezing at night and I feel the cold so much now, I like to wear a lot of layers but still cold..

NippyNinjaCrab · 05/02/2025 16:48

@Weepixie tight hugs 💐🩷 I'm sorry you went through all that, xx

owlyboo · 05/02/2025 18:02

@Weepixie sorry to hear about your health past. Must have been horrible.

And in regards to plastic surgery I say have whatever makes you happy! Everyone is different. I have Botox which some would frown upon (not me as I can't 😂😂) if you can afford it and it gives you confidence then it's a yes from me!

Also nothing wrong with embracing the loose skin...it's all individual!

Arraminta · 05/02/2025 18:03

Evening All. I was on the first few threads but kinda fell by the wayside. Anyway, my weight loss has continued to be slow but steady and with zero side effects.

As of today I have lost a grand total of 34lbs and have a BMI of 22.9. I'm 5ft 6" and weigh 10st 2lbs (which is lighter than when I got married 22 years ago). I have 3 doses left of my 10mg pen and expect to be 9st 11lbs by the time it's finished.

So, I'm coming to the end of my weight loss adventure and seriously considering the ramifications of maintenance Vs. cold turkey. Is anyone else at this stage yet?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2025 18:30

How lovely to hear from you @Arraminta. Glad you found us again

wow at bmi of 22 !! Whoop

you are an inch shorter then me but I can’t imagine myself at 10.2 let alone going to 9st something

i struggled at 10.20

I still have maybe 4mths + till maintenance if lose 2lb a week

but don’t think will do cold turkey as think be too much of a shock and plan to work down - I think

Hello Blondes I remember chatting with you before. Am I right in thinking you are planning a tummy tuck in the future?

I had an extended TT a few years ago so happy to answer any questions if you have any?

Arraminta · 05/02/2025 19:16

Oops, sorry. It is weepixie who is thinking of a TT.

But getting to your target weight in 4 months will be perfect timing for the start of Summer.

owlyboo · 05/02/2025 19:19

Welcome back @Arraminta ! Well done! I'm not where you are just yet. I'm at a healthy weight but only really just (24.6 bmi) I'm planning on losing a bit mate to cement into the healthy bmi. Once I reach around 23 I'm going to go into maintenance and go back down the doses. I don't want to go cold turkey as seen horror stories of people piling the weight due to the drastic changes to hunger but who knows?! Have you spoken to your provider and what they suggest?

Hi owlyboo sounds like you're very close too? I have only used Cloud Pharmacy and intend messaging them next week to discuss what to do about maintenance.

owlyboo · 05/02/2025 19:26

Yes @Arraminta I'm actually the same height as you so currently at 10st12. I've only used chemist4u I wrote to them a while ago and they said they support maintenance but haven't arranged it yet as not ready yet so just revived my second 15mg pen to help lose the next few pounds.

Are you feeling happy with your current shape/size? I'm pretty content but want to lose the extra really just to get further into the bmi, just to cement it.

Glad you've not had any side effects.

WorriedRelative · 05/02/2025 19:33

Re the rule change, Oushk have posted that for them no changes for now but they are considering what additional measures may be required in future. It won't stop them offering maintenance.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2025 19:56

No @Arramintabut would love an arm tuck as have serious wobbly bingo bat wings

ifs a toss up for me to do cloud or ousk - both seem to happily do maintenance

there is a maintenance thread with all the providers and what they do

@Arraminta hey welcome back, it's great to hear from you and wow what an update. I'm 7lbs away from my original goal, I've had a couple of weeks sts. I joined the Oushk maintenance plan even though I'm not at goal, I wanted to get in and on it as I see that they are really busy with people now wanting maintenance.

I'm 5ft 5.5in and I wanted to get to 10.7 for a safety window. It's been a long time since I've been in the 10's. I definitely look like I need to lose the stone, I wouldn't be concerned if I went down to 10 tbh, there's a lot of fat still floating about.

I'm on a 5mg pen and taking 2.5mg every 4 days so i am not too high because I can't tolerate it. I'm using the Shotsy app to monitor the levels and also going by how I'm feeling.

I didn't want to go cold turkey without MJ because I dont feel I'm in control of emotional eating yet, it's only been a few months, I reckon I'll need a good few more months to maintain and get into the swing of this new body and eating. I am looking forward to having my dopamine increased though.

If you have the time stay on the thread and update still. I think this will end up being our maintenance thread too, I'd be a wee lost Crustacean without it. Xx

NippyNinjaCrab · 05/02/2025 19:59

Ps it's would love a TT, or lipo on my tummy, I'm not brave enough and probably too costly. Probably lipo would be the affordable option and less of a recovering period.
I don't think DH would be on board with any operations though.

Glad you've not had any side effects.

I'm really happy with my new shape, although have had to donate 70% of my wardrobe to the charity shop! I'm lucky for having had a TT a few years back so my abdomen (my worst area) looks toned with no sagging.

I am very small boned so could probably easily drop another 14lbs without looking skinny, but I don't want to start looking gaunt in my face/throat (I'm 54).

But like you, I want to really embed this new weight into my DNA, so to speak, and leave myself a generous buffer zone.

When do you think you will stop?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2025 20:07

Agree with @NippyNinjaCrabthis is our lifeline and sure we will all be on it hopefully in a years time whether still losing or maintaining
