Lots on TikTok, Reddit, etc. Many people here prefer to be anonymous so look on social media

OwlFeatures · 05/01/2025 21:46

I've shared mine a few times so happy to share again.

First photo shared is me about 9 stone 13 and this one is 9 stone 9 so not a lot in it really but I can feel the difference these days with a few extra lbs

@OwlFeatures you look great. Do you still take it at the weight you are now?

OwlFeatures · 05/01/2025 22:20

@Coffeemmmmcoffee yes I'm still taking it because I honestly don't really know when or how to stop! There really isn't any definitive advice out there so you have to decide for yourself.

I've been with med express all along but I've made an appointment with Oushk for a maintenance plan and I think I'll probably start to taper down starting next month. Currently on 7.5

I'm also very aware that , for me, it's not been about educating myself on how to eat properly - I've said it before but I could actually be a dietician I'm sure Grin I know how to eat. So I'm wondering if this is something I may need to take, in some low dose perhaps, for life? It changes how you process glucose and once you're not taking it, the changes reverse

It’s weird to read that as you are slimmer than me and at my ideal weight but I’m not at a weight I would qualify to start it even privately

OwlFeatures · 05/01/2025 23:01

@Coffeemmmmcoffee what is your bmi? And yes I know. It seems mad to me that I could go up to 15mg if I wanted to

MounjaroJourneyUK · 05/01/2025 23:30

Not at goal yet but getting there!

Ooh you look amazing!

I'm off to give you a follow!

OwlFeatures · 05/01/2025 23:34

Well I was off to follow you but I already do! So that's a coincidence - and an even bigger one is that I read your little book last week on my kindle

Oh wow! Great to hear - hope you found the book useful! Long term Mumsnetter here, the first Mounjaro thread series was my main source of info when I started in April along with a few U.S. podcasts. It's all so fascinating and feels like a revolution!

Oh my gosh that's so inspiring! Can't wait for that to be me :)

Well done 👏👏👏👏 you must feel amazing :)

OwlFeatures · 06/01/2025 12:52

@LowBloodSugar thank you. How are you getting on so far with it all?

OwlFeatures · 06/01/2025 12:52

@LowBloodSugar thank you. How are you getting on so far with it all?

6 days in and nothing much! Still feel the same, no side effects, not much appetite suppression except on day 2! and massive blood sugar drop this morning! I am eating less though! AND ... feeling positive and just keep focussing on the goal. I am DETERMINED this mounjaro will work and I WILL loose weight. People like you keep me inspired!! 👍 Hoping I can post a weight loss pic sometime in the future (who knows!)

(All previous diets I've started with a kind of 'well this will probably fail' attitude, because that's been my experience. But there is real hope with mounjaro!)

Shrinkingrose · 06/01/2025 14:18

@OwlFeatures , do medexpress know you’re true weight now? As they are saying hard cut off at 23.5 bmi. And I’m leaving them due to it, even though I e a long way to go.

Hi @Shrinkingrose

I'm intending to go lower than BMI 23. Who are you moving to? What BMI will they allow? Thnx

Hi @Shrinkingrose

I'm intending to go lower than BMI 23. Who are you moving to? What BMI will they allow? Thnx

I’m moving to cloud, I think there are three or four that now offer maintence down to 22- 19, depending on the pharmacy, inc oushk, pharmoulous , there is a thread on it.

I only intend to get to bmi 23. I think that’s a healthy weight for me and still half a stone higher than I always was before I gained.

i can’t stay with medexpress, as they are not only more expensive at the higher doses, they are very clear, they will stop supply immediately if you hit 23.5. And they say a max of two years, which is for wegovy not mounjaro. So the advice isn’t even right.

so my bmi is still about 28, so for me, it was time to move.

OwlFeatures · 06/01/2025 19:08

@Shrinkingrose they do know my BMI yes and so far they've said nothing. I've been with them for 9 months and have had to supply photos about 2 months ago and fill in a form last month. Apart from that, I've just done a quick re order each time

However I'm aware they're quite vague on their cut off point and I do want the option of being able to order if i feel I need to hence why I plan to go to Oushk

The ideal would be I come off the pens and maintain my weight. But experience tells me this won't happen so for now, I'd like to taper down and see how it goes

OwlFeatures · 06/01/2025 19:08

@Shrinkingrose that's another thing about them - they give conflicting advice don't they?

OwlFeatures · 06/01/2025 19:10

@LowBloodSugar keep that faith! It will honestly happen and the days tick by and before you know it, you're there

I never had suppression and was on 2.5 for nearly 6 months which is where I lost the bulk of the weight

Shrinkingrose · 06/01/2025 21:33

@OwlFeatures , you don’t need to answer, but you look very slim, is your bmi below 23.5? As this is their supposed cut off..

OwlFeatures · 06/01/2025 23:32

@Shrinkingrose It's 23.3! I'm short!

My last check in / order with them was a few weeks ago and my bmi then was a little bit higher and nothing said

So my plan is to swap to Oushk now and start to taper down. Oushk have said they'll accept me (I've had a video chat) and my goal now is to stay around this weight and focus on building back strength and muscle mass (I've lost a lot) and
