I gave signed up and am now waiting for the blood test to arrive. I'll post updates on here so you will know if it is reputable or not. Hope it will help others.

I completely agree with you both, I’m getting increasingly frustrated by the differing emails that keep getting posted up and their lack of communication over this issue aside from the ‘we know it’s a difficult time and we’ll clarify next week’ email. I wonder if they’ve been seeking legal and medical advice from the study funders as to where they stand on changing the price with regards to Mounjaro or moving to WeGovy and this is what’s causing the delays in any sort of guidance / information. I’m due my 3rd jab this week so will complete the questionnaire and see what I get offered. I don’t really want to take a week off/ 2 weeks off / 28 days off and then move over but I’m not paying hundreds more for Mounjaro when that was never the deal. I’m that fed up with it all that I might just ask to get out

Merluzzo · 26/08/2025 16:56

Won’t the whole study be invalidated if they switch us to a different medication midway?

ticktock19 · 26/08/2025 17:03

Who knows, I don’t know precisely what they were studying, whether it was just the actions of ‘general’ weightloss injections over 12 months or whether it was 12 months on strictly one particular injection. When I had side effects earlier in the year then they offered them to switch me to wegovy so it seems like they’ve always had the choice to switch if they felt it would work better

Merluzzo · 26/08/2025 17:06

Thanks, that makes sense.

BestDIL · 26/08/2025 18:48

If they are going to offer Wegovy for £99 then we would be paying over the odds. The deal was that they had 12 months of data from us for £99 a month for Mounjaro or Wegovy. I think swapping us halfway through would be shit! You can get Wegovy cheaper than £99 and I, too, don’t want to have to take a break before moving to Wegovy. Also, from posts I’ve seen on Facebook if you switch from one to the other with SheMed, you have to start at the lowest dose! Sure fire way of derailing us all when we are so far in.

Surely they got sufficient funding for this before they started???

ticktock19 · 26/08/2025 19:03

Well you would have thought that wouldn’t you, but I presume the price hike has thrown them off. I wondered if they would have negotiated something with Eli Lily to be able to do a deal at such a price for the set 12 months but it looks like they were just working with individual pharmacies.

ticktock19 · 27/08/2025 12:26

Oh..looks like MJ is off the £99 plan then

Merluzzo · 27/08/2025 12:44

Thanks @ticktock19
Awful news, I really don’t want to switch to Wegovy but MJ with SheMed is extortionate, way more expensive than all of the other providers for my current dose of 5mg.

ticktock19 · 27/08/2025 12:49

I agree @Merluzzo, I’ve just received my email from them confirming the switch too. They’ve not given an option to leave the study so I might email them as I’ve tried wegovy before and had awful side effects so I don’t want the switch and can’t afford the new price. I’m bitterly disappointed, I really thought they would have enough stock in hand for all / a large majority of the participants to be able to offer such a deal in the first place but it looks like it’s not the case.

HappyKatieA · 27/08/2025 13:25

I’ve just had the email too. I really don’t want to swap to Wegovy, I’m only a few pounds away from goal and I really don’t want the awful side effects some of the people I know have had on Wegovy.
They haven’t given an option for cancelling the trial in the email, but I think that as they are not upholding their side of the deal, they should give us this option.

GoldLeader · 27/08/2025 14:01

I’m so fucking angry it’s unreal.

I should have done my prescription last Friday but I was away for the bank hol and didn’t want it to arrive while I was gone. So I arrived home at 2am last night and trying to sort the prescription this morning and it’s gone a fucking mess.

then at lunch time got the email that says the same thing as when trying to do the prescription. Move to wegovy or pay 300% price increase.

everything about this is so fucked. SheMed don’t need to charge us a 300% price increase to make up the cost difference, they are deliberately making it extortionate so we ‘agree’ to wegovy.

the original contract was mounjaro or wegovy based on CLINICAL need. So they think legally we agreed to both. I’m HIGHLY tempted to do wegovy for 1 pen, report the most serious side affects and see what they do. Because I’ve had none on mounjaro. And clinically that would mean they’d need to swap me back.

it’s worse because I have no time to decide carry or make the decision to just cut them off. (It’s fairly easy to block them from taking payments and if they tried to sue me for the last couple of months I’m fairly sure they loose so wouldn’t try)
im tight for time as I’ve only 1 dose left and then away again for a week so need a new pen to arrive pronto.

ARG. rant over.

pissed off, unbelievably pissed off. I can guarantee if I stay on the ‘study’ now. Every single response I give is going to be absolute garbage. Why give them my time of day.

BestDIL · 27/08/2025 16:50

I’m the same @GoldLeader I’m on 10mg so to stay with MJ it’s going to be £319 a month. I can’t afford that. I’ll switch to Wegovy because frankly I have no other option.

I’m gutted. I thought being part of the study meant something but I now feel like it’s all been for nothing. Like you I’m going to report rubbish so the study won’t mean jack shit!

BestDIL · 27/08/2025 17:50

I’m going to use the golden dose from my current pen and the one that will be delivered tomorrow. That’ll get me 2 extra weeks, not much in the grand scheme of things but I’ll feel like I have some control! Daren’t tell my hubby - he’ll go nuts at me using golden dose. Got some sterile insulin syringes from the local pharmacy - £2 for 5! Cheapest doses of MJ I’ll ever have!

I watched the video in the email and am expecting them to move me straight over onto 1mg Wegovy, rather than starting at the bottom. I haven’t had any major side effects, the odd bit of acid reflux and constipation so no reason for me to start at the bottom.

just clicked onto a couple of ads for Wegovy - Voy would be £160 a month for Wegovy - no price mentioned for MJ though so £99 is still a good deal.

@BestDIL You can force the pen. I happened to look on YouTube yesterday as I’m thinking the same as you & saving the golden dose from pen that finishes today & next pen that I already have 🤔

travelforthesoul · 31/08/2025 08:50

omg so just got my email for renewal pen. Im on 10mg and I can stay on trial and move to wegovy (not sure what to do) or I can pay £279 or £319.

I cannot afford to stay on MJ so will be moving to Wegovy. I’ve read good things about it so I’m not too worried about changing. My losses have slowed down so hoping the change of meds will kickstart losses again. Plus I only have around 1.5st to go.

Just for clarity, MJ will be £279 for doses up to and including 10mg and £319 for 12.5mg and 15mg.

£99 for Wegovy is still good value so although I’m sad not to have MJ anymore at least my journey will continue.

I’ve calmed down a lot since earlier in the week when I was blazing mad!!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 31/08/2025 23:49

Glad you are feeling happier about it all @BestDIL
i’m still in an angry stage 🙄
Angry at Eli Lily, trump, people making such a profit, people stock piling, SheMed for not communicating and honouring the contract.
so basically a lot of people!!

Just used a syringe to pull my golden dose. Now essential give price and restriction.
Still awaiting info from SheMed about my lost pen.
they are investigating.
anyone know process for this?

BestDIL · 01/09/2025 08:54

@Reginaphalangeeeee I thought I would be claiming for a lost pen too this week. Mine was stuck at a mail sorting depot for 3 days. Waiting for SheMed to let me know whether it’s still safe to use. I asked them specifically to not use Royal Mail but that was ignored on the refill questionnaire.

Have you looked on the Royal Mail website to see the proof of posting? As it’s tracked, they have to take a photo of the parcel either showing it being handed over or where it was left on your property. Obviously you’ve checked your garden. Do you think it’s possible that someone pinched it from your garden or do you think it was never delivered?

Attached are photos of the state of my parcel when it arrived, I could see that someone had tried to extract the contents. The box flap was pushed down inside the box and the bubble wrap bag was open inside. Someone had clearly had their hand in the box and bag. Clearly they didn’t know what they were looking at or they have pinched it!

I have also attached a photo showing my proof of delivery which you should be able to get from Royal Mail. I believe that you need to contact the pharmacy and let them know it hasn’t been delivered. The pharmacy will then make the claim to Royal Mail.

Thanks @BestDILyes I had a RM card said ‘left by back fence’. Picture taken was not my property & didn’t recognise where they left it. We have a shared drive with neighbours which is overlooked by a block of flats. I think it was left on my neighbours property next to a pile of rubbish so could have been innocently put in bin I guess or pinched by someone maybe.
Shemed have now emailed to say they will replace it at no cost which is something.

Oh that’s good news. With the golden dose you won’t have a gap.

travelforthesoul · 01/09/2025 19:28

@BestDIL did you decide to go on wegovy at 10mg same as wegovy? Or start at minimum dose again? Im so scared, I dont want the awful side effects.

BestDIL · 01/09/2025 22:57

@travelforthesoul. I’m think I’m going to start on 1mg which is the middle dose and that’s what SheMed have said. However it’s in the hands of the clinicians. I am a few weeks away from ordering as I still have a full MJ pen. Hoping there are no side effects. I will keep you all updated but suspect that others may be on it before me.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 02/09/2025 06:58

Yes I will be really interested to see how others get on with it. I know trials show effective (although less effective than MJ) but there are not studies of people moving from one to another in direct comparison.

my friend was told a 2 week break was essential before moving over. Have SheMed released any guidance like this?

I really hope it works for you. If I was closer to my target I may considered it more but with 3-4 stone I’ve got to keep with the quickest and most effective.

With the demand for Wegovy also increased driven at the hands of Eli Lily, who is to say Wegovy will not follow? What would SheMed do then I wonder?

BestDIL · 02/09/2025 10:02

Apparently only need a 7 day break so no break effectively. SheMed starting us on lower dose so I guess that’s how

minerva7 · 02/09/2025 17:27

I’ve had a really busy few days moving my child into their halls and don’t know exactly where on their site I read it…

but SheMed wrote about reviewing prices in October after (the price guarantee expired?). It read very much to me like prices will be increasing next month for those switching to Wegovy - I’m guessing to the market price for it which afaik is more than £99, more like £160.

Seems my SheMed journey is coming to an end. As devastating as the switch is it’s still preferable to me than an outright stop, but as I can’t afford to stretch my budget anymore it looks like that’s my reality.

I hope I’m wrong but it was on the app or website I read it.
