Thanks @Fizzleaway1 - Iโ€™m cautious with herbal items though, as never sure if/how they interact with prescribed meditation - Iโ€™m on other meds as well as Mounjaro. Not sure what gentian might do.
Just need to up the fibre and water!

This chat moves fast! I've been catching up and laughing at the rabbit poo comments - I'm in the same boat, and omg it's sooo frustrating- like please let me just let a good one out for once haha! How do you take psyllium husk - is that just the capsules?

I'm so proud of all of us, it's amazing to see everyone's progress in this group - keep going :)

About to have my period soon, and hoping to keep my eating in check!

Morning all

W5 D1

SW. - 85kgs
CW - 78 kgs
Total loss - 7 kgs

I hit the 1 stone mini goal today. I worked really hard last year and managed to get to this weight doing a lot of exercise - so I'm really chuffed to get here relatively easily. I'm pretty active but haven't started doing regular strength training so that's the plan for this week.

Will infect the bonus dose later, hoping to there's around 0.8mls in there so it's a little over 3mg. I don't feel the need to go up to 5mg. Suppression is still pretty strong and when I am hungry, it's for something healthy and while I'm losing 1-2lbs a week, I'm not rushing to go up through the strengths.

My Christmas target was to get to 77kgs so hopeful I can get there - 1 kg to go! Smile

Ahh I see. I never even thought of that actually but I donโ€™t take anything at the moment (apart from MJ) .

Hi All,
Congratulations @UpUpUpU on your graduation and new job. Well done everyone on amazing losses.
Sorry for this next bit in advance but itโ€™s something that has really freaked me out this week. I read an article about a lady who had multiple organ failure and died (in the news last week) This was linked with her taking MJ. Iโ€™ve been so paranoid about taking MJ since then that Iโ€™ve had disturbed sleep and every little tiny feeling has sent me spinning out! Itโ€™s taken a lot of strength to get a grip and assure myself that this isnโ€™t going to happen to me!! Does anyone else worry or am I the only one?!! Iโ€™m still on 2.5mg but so this was this woman for only two weeks! Of course there could have been many other contributing factors/health issues. Anyway, itโ€™s really made me think about how much longer I should carry on taking MJ and whether having now crossed the first big hurdle of losing 1 stone ๐Ÿ˜ (Im on 6 weeks) I should try and take all the good habits Iโ€™ve begun and go it alone !! Itโ€™s just so simple and easy with MJ - no food noise, cravings or desire to binge. I worry about what life will be like when I stop and have to manage this myself but I know I have to. Sorry for the downer but this is part of life on MJ I guess !

on another note is anyone on HRT as Iโ€™m hoping my oncologist is going to prescribe for me and I might actually get some sleep! Itโ€™s an increased risk for me as Iโ€™ve had breast cancer but my type wasnโ€™t linked to hormones
so theyโ€™re considering it! I guess this is on my mind too. Iโ€™m debating whether to tell them Iโ€™m on MJ !! I know thatโ€™s stupid now Iโ€™ve written it here !! Of course I should tell them!! Thing is Iโ€™ve no one else except all of you to talk to about this stuff as Iโ€™ve not told anyone!

Sorry for the freak outs and Happy Tuesday everyone ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…

@EVK - completely understand why you're feeling stressed about the news this week, I've seen so many threads and discussions - and you're not alone in how you're feeling. But at the end of it I think only you can make that choice of what you want to do.

Personally, I'm definitely staying on mounjaro until I've reached a healthy weight, because despite the side effects it has really made a huge difference to my weight loss, in a way that I just couldn't without (and I tried, a lot!)

But it has made me more cautious that I will try to be honest with my provider/gp and actually get checked if something feels wrong, rather than brushing it off as a side effect xx

ArtfullyCrumpled · 12/11/2024 09:28

Last day of 2.5 today. Loving it! I've lost 9lbs in 4 weeks. I can see 10lb loss flickering on the scales so hoping for that tomorrow. Moving up to 5mg dose tomorrow. I've been able to eat meals ok but that might change when I move up.

The constipation was horrible. I upped the green veggies and it's worked for me. Plus loads of water.

Banana and an oatcake for breakfast.

Salmon or prawn with green leafy salad and cucumber for lunch. Bit of Mayo.

Chicken stir fry in evening with red and green peppers and spring onion one chicken breast and a tiny amount of rice.

EVK · 12/11/2024 09:41

@crumbsonmyface
Thank you for your reply, yes - itโ€™s both a saviour and a curse in my mind - Iโ€™m probably going to finish the pen I have and then try to continue on my own?!!! Over Christmas!! The ultimate test ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™ˆAlthough, I imagine as I get closer to that point Iโ€™m going to find it harder to let go as itโ€™s such an amazing support!!! Hopefully I will be able to stay with all on this thread as youโ€™re all so inspiring.

I suspect there is more to come out in that case.

16 people have been hospitalised due to mounjaro. Most very minor, nausea, the runs etc, but 12 of the 16 are all in this one health board in Scotland. 12 of the 16. All in one location.

Which considering the proliferation across the whole of the uk thatโ€™s not a stat youโ€™d expect to see. I donโ€™t know how many people currently using it in the uk, But it will be in the hundreds of thousands . In the us, itโ€™s about 6 million.

it raises questions on where she bought the drug, and if there is something else going on here in that small cluster of cases in one location. The stat alone raises questions.

crumbsonmyface · 12/11/2024 10:01

@Relaxedandchilled - saw that too, and it does look like something else is at play. All of these in one location seems really strange. You're right, I think there is more to this story.

@EVK - good luck! Keep us posted on how you get on. How much more are you hoping to lose? :)

Good morning all, howling wind and rain here today - delightful. Well done to all those hitting the 1 stone lost mark, absolutely brilliant!

Very disturbed sleep again last night, woke up with the shaky feeling again ๐Ÿฅด it seems to ramp up 48 hrs after jab day.. then quieten down again towards the end of the week. Stopped myself from getting on the scales again this morning!! Going to try and hold off until Saturday am. Today's plan is water, food, water, food, electrolytes and work.. ๐Ÿ™ˆ wish me luck!

Pegsmum · 12/11/2024 11:38

@EVK No itโ€™s not just you, I worry about what Iโ€™m doing too and when I read about that poor lady I did have a wobble but as others have said, thereโ€™s probably more to come out about the circumstances.

Iโ€™m on HRT, I told my provider and it wasnโ€™t an issue, if I were you Iโ€™d tell the oncologist. I know thatโ€™s a bit scary as Iโ€™ve not told anyone in real life about Mounjaro either! Good luck in whatever you decide x

RunSlowTalkFast · 12/11/2024 11:56

I'm on day 5 of 5mg now after 5 weeks on 2.5mg and still not experiencing anything that everyone else talk about!

No suppression and thinking about food more not less as I'm constantly analysing whether it's having any effect.

Feeling a bit despondent to be honest.

financialcareerstuff · 12/11/2024 12:29

Anyone else have less control of their bladder?

Sorry for the TMI, but just little drips that seem to roll out uncontrolled?

Oh no, really sorry to hear that. That must be hugely frustrating! Is it worth investigating further with your GP?

RunSlowTalkFast · 12/11/2024 12:56

I'm not sure a GP would be able to do anything would they?

Does anyone know if there's been any research done on why it works for some people at low doses and not others?

I donโ€™t think youโ€™re gp will investigate, simply you need a higher dose, it works for everyone, just at different dose levels, you just need to work up to the higher numbers.

EVK · 12/11/2024 13:55

Thank you all for your replies. I ended up talking to the Breast care nurse specialist today about HRT (oncologist wasnโ€™t available) and sleep issues etc. I decided to tell her I was taking MJ and she was very supportive, said losing weight and my reduction (almost complete lack of) in alcohol are very important for risk of recurring breast cancer. She encouraged me to continue as long as Iโ€™m feeling well.

I didnโ€™t know there were others all in the same area with problems - as youโ€™ve all said it does sound suspiciously coincidental.
im feeling much more positive now and still have another stone (14lbs) to lose to get to my GW of about 9 stone - so Iโ€™ve decided to keep going now. Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply to me ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฉท

@rockingbird I find 48-72 hours the dose is at its height and sleep along with suppressions and mild nausea are at a peak. Really important to try to eat, drink and eat ๐Ÿ˜‚ Hope youโ€™re now feeling less unwell in general from MJ side effects.

Oh and work!!

Fizzleaway1 · 12/11/2024 14:01

@EVK I seen the report that the women sadly passed away but I havenโ€™t thought about it any further. There are side effects to everything and no one knows what other things she has going on. I will continue on MJ until the end and then I will try to micro dose probably to maintain.

@financialcareerstuff I havenโ€™t noticed anything different with bladder control.

@rockingbird good luck! Hope you have felt ok today.

Fizzleaway1 · 12/11/2024 14:06

I took my first 5mg dose yesterday and I havenโ€™t noticed any difference from the 2.5mg dose. No sickness or anything else.

I do have another meal out again tonight at a Greek place. Iv tried to look at the menu to see what I can order thatโ€™s the healthiest.
Il try to stay away from the pita and go for meat and salad
