So I have sadly had to take 3 weeks off MJ due to financial issues.

What I've noticed:

Inflammation is back. Pain, breathlessness, feeling boiling hot, red skin

IBS-D - needing to go 7-10 times a day, Mj made this once to twice a day

General control in life:
felt more in control of my life on MJ

CALM

I Was experiencing less perimenopausal rage on MJ

Food noise obviously

Please share your non weight related side effects

Could anyone tell me where the most affordable place to buy this is? The price range seems to differ greatly!

Look at monj.co.uk

I think medexpress of you use a code for the £40 discount. Lots of people have posted their codes on the discount codes thread. Good luck! X

@SisSuffragette I wish I knew more! I knew my headaches weren't anything 'serious' but likely food, dehydration, tiredness, hormones etc. I tried everything and was constantly trying to balance eating, drinking water, sleeping. But nothing helped. Standard over the counter medication didn't help. Electrolyte drinks helped a bit. I was a bmi 37 when I started MJ and pre-diabetic. Headaches stopped immediately. I've now lost 3st 3lb and generally feel great. No other side effects other than tiredness.
I assume MJ is stabilising my blood sugar. I have no idea whether MJ will help others but it's been great for me.

ChaosDream · 03/11/2024 10:13

Apparently I've stopped snoring! Like others I have an aversion to fizzy drinks, processed food and sugar. Also farting a lot less 😂

I have more energy and have increased my step count. I'm able to run at a faster pace in the gym - still slower than others but I'm getting there.

I'm definitely drinking less wine too. I'm on 2.5 but will be starting 5mg next week. I don't want to sound gushy but MJ is changing my life. I've yo-yo dieted for years and tried so many different plans. I was undecided for a long time re starting injections but am glad i took the plunge.

Thank you.

The price should include the cost of prescription, as they will have their own doctors/ prescribers to provide this for you. You need to fill out a questionnaire on your medical history and provide ID, proof of current weight (usually photos/ video/ live chat), etc.

They are all regulated pharmacies, which you can research yourself.

You aren't tied to one, just keep evidence of your prescription labels, emails etc as evidence of current dose if you want to move around.

I'm now 8 months in. The first 6 months I felt like I'd been hit by a bus energy wise but finally have my energy back. My non scale victories are:

Osteo-arthritis much better. I'm not sure whether this is partly due to weight loss.
Periodontitis: gums much less inflamed.
Calmer. Better mood.
Not starving an hour after eating porridge!
PMT much better.
Menopause symptoms: much better.
Can't tolerate sugar or caffeine (especially at the start)

Sleep is still crap but better than it was at the start. I'm still waiting to be repulsed by my vape however. I'm definitely going to be a lifer as I feel so much better.

ChubbyMcChubfest · 03/11/2024 19:06

I noticed just today that my ankles haven't been swollen in a while, but it wasn't until reading some of the posts on here that I've connected that with my starting Mounjaro. I was on holiday a couple of weeks ago and even after the flights, they didn't swell. It's not the weight loss as I've been slimmer than this and had oedemous ankles. This is a great non-scale victory to me!

Doggymummar · 03/11/2024 19:11

I had no alcohol for the first year I was on this, well from March to December. Second time round I'm not finding the same aversion but I'm still going up the doses.

Carelesswispalover · 03/11/2024 19:29

My OCD isn't as severe, I'm a hair puller and skin picker and this has pretty much stopped.
Bloating has disappeared, and weirdly my No.2s don't smell anymore 🤣
I have lichens sclerosis and it's not as bad since I started MJ.
I've lost nearly 4 stone that I spent years yoyo'ing with, I am so bloody grateful for this drug.

I do struggle with sleep especially the day I inject, this is the worst side effect for me.

hockeysticks89 · 03/11/2024 20:01

I love MJ and it worked for me where a gastric band didn't however I'm not enjoying the aversion to alcohol as it's made me a boring person in my social circle. It's also heightened my anxiety and lowered my already low blood pressure so I'm dizzy a lot.

I'll put up with all of the above though for being a weight I haven't been since the 1990s and in a healthy weight band. I thought I'd always have a BMI over 35.

UpUpUpU · 03/11/2024 20:27

It’s definitely helped my PMT. Not had any at all this month and I usually get serious rage. My period took me by surprise this month as I didn’t feel any different to normal. No bad mood, no wanting to eat the world 😂😂

My arthritis in my hands is significantly reduced too.

JustCleaningtheBBQ · 03/11/2024 21:50

There are already clinical trials underway looking at whether semaglutide can reduce alcohol intake in people with alcohol use disorder. Research into these drugs and their effects on addictions is beginning to hot up.

ClimbingMounjaro · 04/11/2024 00:26

Sadly it didn't stop me from drinking every night. I'm hoping when I restart this week that it might happen!

It's fascinating to read how much this drug is helping people

I have rosacea and I know my inflammation is high. I wonder if this stuff could help with my rosacea?

I'm the same. I ate one of my trigger foods the other day and whilst I did get slightly flushed it wasn't the raging hot burning that lasts a couple of hours which I usually have to try and settle with piriton and ibruprofen. I've been on MJ since Sep. Tbh it's this more than weight management that makes me want to stay on a maintenance dose.

However I suppose I can't discount the possibility it's just being at a lower weight and a massive change is eating habits (e.g. massively less sugar/carbs) that is responsible and would the positives be the same if I'd lost the weight on keto or another diet?

Havalona · 04/11/2024 11:55

I love reading about how MJ has helped many with not only weight loss but lots of other things aswell.

I don't need to use it as I have to gain weight (sorry now) after a serious illness left me skeleton thin.

I really think this drug should be free for all. Just look at the savings to the NHS that would result. But common sense???

Redlightbulb · 04/11/2024 14:42

Just started month 4. Lost about 1 stone 10lb and have 6-7 to go.
I have mild rosacea and it has definitely improved.
My upper cheeks and lower forehead used to get noticeably red after showering and sting a bit. That is near enough gone now.
My foot and ankle swelling has quietened down as well.
Fizzy drink consumption has lowered. I used to be able to drink glasses and glasses of diet coke a day.
Depression has got worse.. but I find that at the start of every major weight loss plan / lifestyle change I have done in the past. It gradually subsides as I lose more weight and markedly improves to better than it was before once I have got a fair chunk off (say 3/4 of the way to goal)
