I got sent an empty pen by Med express

And they will neither answer the phone or respond to my emails!

what can I do?

I can send it all back to them including all the unused needles but I’m so disappointed as yesterday was my injection day and I needed it.

You need to buy an insulin syringe to pull the 5th dose out. The pen will only dispense four doses, with the syringe you get the 5th out.

If could be the needles, I went through two of the needles that the pharmacy gave me on my last dose, neither worked, swapped it to one that my previous supplier had sent and it worked first time, I suspect that the pharmacy ones are cheaper quality

I’ve now purchased 100 BD branded needles as I know they work well

Hi we just had this from med express. Pen totally empty when it arrived. Can I ask how it was resolved? I’ve been using mounjaro for 6 months so I haven’t done it wrong, the pen is simply empty on arrival.

@MounjaroMama1 the OPs pen wasn’t empty, it was just that the needle wasn’t attached correctly and so no liquid was coming out. It was resolved by attaching the needle correctly.

Can I ask how you’re certain that your pen is empty?

The red seal was fully bulged on delivery, indicating it hasn’t been filled. Also, there is no liquid in it and the pen won’t turn easily.

@MounjaroMama1 surely it’s a case of sending photos and/or the pen back to MedExpress and getting a refund or a new pen. A manufacturing fault is a pretty unarguable issue.

Yes, you can - you need to buy insulin needles from Amazon and use a needle to extract the last dose

I know someone who wasted not one but two doses by not removing the cap before depressing the plunger 🤦‍♀️
