I got sent an empty pen by Med express

And they will neither answer the phone or respond to my emails!

what can I do?

I can send it all back to them including all the unused needles but I’m so disappointed as yesterday was my injection day and I needed it.

Empty as in it's been used? Has the plunger been plunged? Or empty because you primed it and nothing came out? If the latter, sometimes when I put needles in they don't go in properly for some reason so nothing comes out. If I take it off and try again usually it works next time, or at least with a new needle.

What are you trying exactly? Can you describe what you have done?

Could you take a close up of the actual liquid, it should be reasonably obvious if there is liquid in it or not. It's not used as the grey/black plunger moves down as you use the medicine. Perhaps the needle didn't lock in properly maybe try another needle

Turn it just 2 tiny notches and then press the plunger. A few drops should come out as your priming dose.

And yes, if nothing comes out, remove the needle and put another one on. You need to screw the needle on.

You need the needle screwed in for any liquid to come out. There is a bung at the end stopping liquid from coming out before you pierce it with a needle.

I think OP has used a needle as one of the needle cases is opened.

I think it's more likely the needles aren't properly seated on the pen and the seal isn't being broken, or possibly that the seal is faulty.

Do you have your previous empty pen? You could try weighing the old empty one on kitchen scales and see if it's lighter than this new pen.

While I’m here, what is this about the bonus dose? There is nothing left when I’ve done 4 weeks, so where does the bonus dose come from?

If you look at the photo of the pens at each stage, even the one after 4 uses has some liquid between the end of the plunger and the seal. That can often be a whole dose, or a bit more, depending on how much liquid comes out when you prime.

Have you been using that pen for a month and not actually taken any then?
Or is that your second pen?
The liquid is clear, you can't see it in the pen.

How much do you use to prime?

Unless you use a lot there should be around an extra dose.

Do you have your last pen to take a picture of? Did you do 4 doses?

I'm not sure what to think here. I can't believe you can do 4 doses before and not have a clue what you're doing.

It seems like the OP just forgot that as well as pressing the needle onto the pen you then have to screw it on tight, which is what then fully penetrates the red seal.

I'm guessing that with the first pen, she did that correctly and saw some liquid when priming which means that the injection would have been ok too.

@CobaltRewind I think it's worth following the leaflet pictorial instructions each time just to make sure you don't forget a step like this and get confused.

I have used 4 doses and have what looks like a full dose left. Is there any way of using this as a 5th dose.
