Long Med Express delays for first timers

Just to warn anyone starting their journey I’ve been waiting a week and my Mounjaro hasn’t been approved or dispatched.

My email has gone unanswered 4 days later and I’ve been on hold to them for over half an hour now trying to get through to cancel. A quick look at their Trustpilot 1 star reviews shows this is happening to many others too.

Numan came through - already processed and dispatched. Ordered yesterday.

MedExpress have said they’ll refund me and it’ll take up to a week…so they’ll have had my money for over 2 weeks….quite the racket

May I ask how you got hold of them @Soshiny ? I ordered from MedExpress on September 28, and have now had to upload photos three times.

My order still hasn’t been approved or rejected, and an email requesting either a prompt decision or a refund has gone unanswered. It’s disappointing, especially as I’m hoping to lose weight to make recovery from knee surgery easier.

By “them” meaning customer service at MedExpress. Did you find email or telephone more effective?

Soshiny · 09/10/2024 21:22

@CatChant id suggest you post a bad Trust Pilot review with your order number on it. Only people they seem to be responding to sadly.

I used Numan if you want a code. Got delivery within 48 hrs

And on the topic of Trust Pilot there seem to be an awful lots of ‘invited’ 5 star reviews in amongst the many 1 star ones of late. Specifically saying things like - super quickly, very responsive on email. And lots of other utter rubbish

I ordered Medexpress first time for both myself and son around 7.30 last Friday morning. Prescription filled/checked by around 12.30 and delivered by Royal Mail by 10:00am next day. Couldn't fault them.

CatChant · 11/10/2024 21:07

Thank you @Soshiny . Oddly enough, just as I was about to give up MedExpress finally replied to my email asking them to refund me if they weren’t going to reach a decision anytime soon.

They apologised, said my order would be marked ‘urgent’ and then prescribed it an hour later. So fingers crossed.

They do seem very hit or miss - some people getting prescriptions by return of post practically and others, like us, stuck in a queue for days on end.

KitsyWitsy · 11/10/2024 21:47

I can’t fault them. My first 5mg pen came this morning and I ordered it yesterday. The first pen came within 2 days.

HappyShortFuse · 16/10/2024 13:16

my pen came quick too. It was RM that messed up and kept my parcel another day. Luckly the pen was still cold on arrival. phew

Cazx70x · 10/11/2024 14:00

I ordered 4th Nov had an email 2 days later saying about delays, now the 10th Nov and still haven't been approved yet

TorturedParentsDepartment · 10/11/2024 14:23

I had the "unprecedented demand" email - but then mine was approved and sent out within the next couple of days recently. Ordered on the Sunday and had the pen arrive on the Thursday. Mind you, from my photos there's no doubt that I am as fat as fuck I guess.

ThirdStorm · 10/11/2024 14:29

I was reasonably impressed with MedExpress this week. I ordered at 2pm Wednesday 6 November, within hour I had a request for photos and ID (last order 2 months ago and first order over 6 months ago. It took them 24 hours to acknowledge receipt of the photos. Prescription approved and sent Friday 8 November at around 10am, arrived Saturday 9 November.

Hang in there, hopefully you’ll hear something soon.

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 10/11/2024 14:34

I think they must be prioritising first orders as mine came really quickly last week. Even though they warned of delays.

morbidcuriosity · 10/11/2024 14:57

I went with med express with my last pen, got the email that it's been approved, royal mail received and being sent out, then I get another email from med express saying we need to verify your ID please send again. I was like huh? . But royal mail delivered same day as that email.. so don't know what they are doing

I only went with them to get the blue light discount, will be changing for my next one.
