How much have you lost?

I’ve just started this week at 17 stone (108 kg). I’d like to get to 11 stone (70 kg). I’m 50 at the end of January and I’d love to be halfway there as my weight makes me so self-conscious. I’d like to be able to choose something to wear and enjoy going out rather than wearing something that’s ‘fits’ and hiding away in the background. My daughter is 10 next year and I’d also love to go to Disneyland with her or somewhere hot without fear of not fitting into the plane seat/rides/ looking like a beached whale.

Would love to know how much you’ve lost and over what length of time.

I started at the same weight as you. And last week I hit your goal weight of 11st. Which was my goal too! I've now revised my goal to 9st 10 to put me in the healthy BMI category. Total of 6st loss, in 17 months. It started quickly, and then obviously slowed down. I lost 16lb in the first month, then it averaged half a stone a month for the next 6 months. That took me to December last year. It slowed down through December which is understandable as it was Christmas! But Jan and Feb also saw 1/2lb a week losses which was somewhat annoying. That's when I hit the gym, started walking as much as possible and calorie counted every day on my fitness pal. That shifted the losses to 1lb a week on average which was fab. Since July its been slow again, but again, we had a summer holiday, and lots of days out. So to be expected. I'm working as hard as I can now, the end is in sight, and I've got a beautiful wedding dress to fit in to for next July! Oh, before I did no excercise - hated it. Still no great fan, but my god the benefits of it are amazing! I've got these fabulous thigh muscles going on!

I've remained on Saxenda the entire time. It worked amazingly to begin with shutting off all the food noise, and even now it still works in keeping me in check. It really keeps them blood sugars in line so i don't get crashes and the "must eat now" feelings! But I can over eat if I want to so I do need to calorie count to make sure as im only 5ft 2, and my BMR is low. But the will power from it is certainly still there. I've broken age old habits. Just been out shopping and old me would have just got lunch whilst out, and probably a hot choc from Costa, and some other kind of sweet treat. Instead I made sure I had my packed lunch with me. And no extra food purchased! Habits of a lifetime - and I no longer feel any need for them. If I go to the cinema it doesn't have to come with snacks if I don't want it to. Before it was like some sort of compulsion. So yeah, good luck! It's life changing!
