Refused due to photo

I've just been turned down my MedExpress as they say my photo 'seems that your BMI is below 31.3'. I promise I have put my correct height and weight in, and that is my BMI 😫

My pic was standing, facing camera and wearing a vest and jogging bottoms. Not sure what to do. They have asked for another photo - any suggestions? Should I send one in my undies??

Has any one else experienced this??

I sent one in my underwear and it was so horribly unflattering that I think they were compelled to accept me. I was BMI 31 too.

Jogging bottoms are quite loose, I'd resend a picture of you wearing something more fitted.

It doesn't need to be underwear, but leggings or tighter trousers than joggers. Also a figure hugging top, nothing loose. Can you do a side-on picture as well as a facing front picture?

I’d send a side on one - I’m barrel shaped and look pretty normal from the front, but when I turn to the side you can see that my weight is carried on my front.

My BMI was 27 when I 1st ordered and they approved it via my photo so it just shows that it's BS!

I do have a massive belly though :(

I can’t lie, I didn’t follow their instructions. They asked for a frontal photo, but I sent a side photo. I was hoping I’d be able to upload multiple images but they would only accept 1, so I sent the side angle with the hope I can send the frontal later if asked. Didn’t need to as they accepted the side photo.

I went for the side angle image as it showed my weight gain in a much better way due to my weight distribution. I was wearing a gym bralet so they could see my back/waist/stomach/arms and cycling shorts so they could see my legs and belly outline.

I sent one in gym gear so they could see the fat! I look a lot slimmer in normal clothes.

Exactly the same for me. I sent a horrible one in a saggy bra and big knickers, I looked awful in it.

Thanks everyone! Will try one in leggings and bra top. So much of my weight is in my hips, so likely the joggers were disguising that. Might also see if side on is better.

I’ve never had the experience of trying to look fatter in photos, usually it’s the other way round 😂

Honestly maybe not wearing leggings is the way to go. For example my legs visibly looked lumpy/had cellulite - which leggings would have covered up and smoothed over. Underwear or shorts might work better

Go with Cloud pharmacy, no photo and no GP letter.

My first pen arrived 48hrs after requesting it.

I would try leggings/cycle shorts (preferably not black, but if black then do with a plain light coloured background).

Vest top as tight as possible - use a clip at the back to pull tight. Or if you feel comfortable expose midriff with a bra top but it shouldn't be necessary.

Take two pictures one front/one side and merge them together to upload as one image.

They turned me down not because of my awful photos, but because I've had my gallbladder out. I was gutted.

@MaidOfSteel I think there are other prescribers who have accepted people who have had their gall bladder removed. I'm sure I've seen people posting about it in this section.

There's a possible risk of exacerbating gallstones when taking Mounjaro, but if you don't have a gall bladder to begin with then surely that is no longer a risk!

I wore shorts and a vest top originally for Voy. Switched to Cloud and wore similar, no issues (I had to send a photo on the Cloud Pharmacy).

You need to do the opposite of whatever you do to look your best.

Bad posture, low angle, shiny light fabrics, Ideally in a size too small, sad face, flat footed stance straight to camera, don't suck in the belly, stoop a bit, emphasise the double chin.

they denied me because of previous bariatric surgery a good few years ago. Then I see they’ve prescribed someone else who had bariatric surgery?! Only to then cancel on them after they already prescribed to them for two months.

But equally s agree front shots I can look ok but the truth is in the side for me, so give that a go if you need a less flattering photo.
