Where did you get your wedding ring? I have been looking at one in hsamuel and can't find anything similar online. Apparently high street shops should be avoided but I'm not sure we have the budget for an independent jewellers. Looking to spend around £1k. My local city has 4 independent jewellers with the average ring price of around £3k

I got a moissanite earring. Saved thousands of dollars.

The Brighton jewellery quarter is amazing too. So much choice for every budget. I found a beautiful vintage one there with really high quality diamonds for less than £2k

Mine came from a pawn shop. I love it.

H actually brought me a more expensive ring that I never wear because the diamond is too big.

If I buy jewellery I like to go to Brighton.

I was going to suggest the jewellery shops in the Lanes.

Mine was from a local antique jewellery and trinkets shop. DH did look in a couple of high street shops as well but came back to the very first ring he looked at in that shop. It was by far the prettiest ring, he got way more for his money there in nearly every way and he personally felt I would be much more taken by the idea of an antique ring, with a history and a ‘story’ so to speak than by an off the shelf ring from another jeweller… which I was/am! I’d have still been thrilled with a high street ring though, of course!

That's a lot of money. My engagement ring was from HSamuel, I can't remember the exact price but not more than a couple of hundred. It was nothing special, white gold with a large mystic topaz stone. My wedding ring was from a local independent jeweller. They did us a deal cos my husband knows the owners brother. It was a little more but no where near a thousand again white gold with a wishbone shape and a line if small diamonds. We are not made of money and I love my inexpensive rings.

My engagement ring from a local chain jeweller (about 20 shops in specfic region) was priced at over £8k. Came away really disheartened at what I thought was a generous budget could buy!

We got an independent in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter to make one for us- £3k with a larger, better quality diamond. Would recommend over and over again, was so worth the day trip!

I got mine based on a recommendation I found for anniversary gifts.
