Help - I've been invited to an Asian wedding and I need advice on an outfit

One of my best friends is getting married in August and it will be a big Asian wedding.

I will be a guest. I have been invited to the Mehndi/ Dholki Night and the wedding evening.

I need advice on what to wear. I need some outfit ideas that would be appropriate for both events.

Can someone help me please with some links to UK based shops I can purchase from online.

Won't your best friend lend/ point you in the right direction of suitable outfits? That's what's happened with people I know, and they weren't even best friends with the bride, juat colleagues.

Some years ago my husband and I were guests at a very large Asian wedding.
There were Asian guests in Asian dress and others in Western dress. There were Westerners in western dress and westerners in Asian dress. Others changed clothes during the event. Asian young guys changed into kilts for the evening ceilidh while their sisters and girlfriends changed into whatever they would wear to go clubbing.
My advice is wear whatever you would to any other wedding.

ps. The food served was fantastic so go to the wedding and enjoy.

She can, but I thought since she's planning a wedding she wont have time to worry about my outfits :)

Thank You, I didn't want to cause any offense to the bride or groom. I think I will just go with a modest dress.

"Asia" is pretty big OP. Can't really help with suggested shops if we don't know if bride's from Thailand or Kazakhstan...
