can anyone recommend some affordable nice wedding venues near Solihull?

Ideally don’t want to spend more than £10k.

We aren’t sure yet whether we’d like a big do or something really small and intimate.

Congratulations! Have a look at The Lake at Barston . No personal experience of attending a Wedding there but the setting is lovely.
