Voice recording up the aisle

Opinions on the growing trend of having a voice recording playing before the bride walks up the aisle? Personally I think it's cringe as hell and don't really see the point but would love to hear if anybody has seen it done in person.

If I was at a wedding and they did this I’d have to be escorted from the ceremony for pissing myself laughing.

Shodan · 04/01/2025 14:22

Weirdly I saw this on a FB reel yesterday.

The groom was in tears (it was his little daughter speaking) but all of the guests had expressions ranging from disbelief to stifled laughter.

Not good, imo. Beautiful/meaningful pieces of music are the way to go.

sanityisamyth · 04/01/2025 14:22

Sounds bizarre. What is the recording supposed to be for?

everychildmatters · 04/01/2025 14:24

Hubby and I were chatting to each other as we walked up the aisle - perfect for us ❤️

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 04/01/2025 14:24

A recording of what?

2026Bride · 04/01/2025 16:02

I've seen different ones. Some are of the bride talking "I'm about to walk up the aisle to you", some are of their kids talking. It's honestly the cringiest thing ever. I'll try find a video to link.

I've never thought to look at the guests reactions in the background! 😅

Oh good God no. Send him a voice note in the morning 🤣🤣 I'd be mortified!!

PollyPeeves · 04/01/2025 16:07

Saw this at a wedding recently. Very cringe.
After it was played the groom actually said "what's she done that for?" 🤣

Is it to try make him cry? I don't really get it. I'd be mortified!!! What was the guests reaction?

As in side by side walking down chatting to each other or a pre recoded conversation being played?

pretzel1212 · 04/01/2025 16:15

I couldn't even make it through the tik tok video. Cringe.

Reactor1 · 04/01/2025 16:15

I think it's creepy. The need for control is off the scales here. Just live the moment and allow the groom and everyone else to have their own thoughts and feelings. No one needs to be stage managed.

TheReturnOfFeathersMcGraw · 04/01/2025 16:16

@2026Bride I think your name comes up on the tiktok link therd incase you want to get rid.

I couldnt play it cos I dont have tiktok but it sounds weird - is she warning him that the tike to run away is running out?! Who decided this was a good idea 🤣

wizzywig · 04/01/2025 16:16

Like an audio thing when you go to a museum? I'd die laughing

This is brilliant - you could do different ones for the brides side and grooms side if they all had headpieces like when you go around Buckingham Palace!

That was so awful I couldn't make it to the end of the recording! If I were actually present at a wedding where this happened, I would struggle to not laugh hysterically.

wobblyweasel · 04/01/2025 16:24

I saw about 3 seconds of the TikTok video, what a pile of cringe! If I'd have been there, I'd have been in gales of laughter

howsthehair · 04/01/2025 16:26

Oh leave people alone, let them do what they want with their own wedding. If you don't like it, don't do it

OP has asked for opinions. No one is stopping anyone doing anything with their own weddings by having an opinion. Don’t be dramatic

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 04/01/2025 16:30

I actually quite like it.

It's not something I would do but it's sweet and romantic.

I'm more a walk down the aisle to Slipknot and I'm sure there would be much pearl and crucifix clutching to that, so each to our own

If I’d been a guest at that wedding, genuinely, when I heard the brides voice I’d have thought she was jilting him and leaving a message to explain why.

it also sort of seems like a message from beyond the grave. Like she’s wishing him well in his next marriage and to be happy

I can imagine myself saying ‘what the fuck?’ far too loudly.

HellsBells67 · 04/01/2025 16:52

Horrific! A disembodied voice booming as if from the dead. Brides really need to have a word with themselves over all this madness.

They can do whatever they like, no one is stopping them. I’m allowed to think it’s silly though.
