Is it okay to wear this suit to a wedding?

I purchased this Chanel suit for a steal a while ago because I just love it. I bought it with the notion that I could just wear it to friends' weddings over and over again. My partner feels that it is too close to white however? Now I am not sure as I'd feel terrible if I was perceived as rude for wearing it. It's been described online as mushroom/grey/ecru/grey cream. What do you think?

OP, it's nowhere near white! Could your partner be politely trying to tell you something else?

BettyBardMacDonald · 29/11/2024 01:52

It's fine.

TwinklyNight · 29/11/2024 03:13

That's suitable in my opinion. Isn't it good luck to wear green at a wedding? 🙂🍀

Mumistiredzzzz · 29/11/2024 03:51

Its not close to white but is close to frumpy

Ladyj84 · 29/11/2024 04:13

Nowhere near white but hate the style looks so casual

TriangleLight · 29/11/2024 04:15

It’s definitely not too white. Not bridal in the slightest.

daisychain01 · 29/11/2024 04:40

Your DP needs their eyes testing, there's no way you'll be mistaken as the bride wearing that!

Lurkingandlearning · 29/11/2024 07:47

It would be too casual in any colour

BarbaraHoward · 29/11/2024 07:51

The colour is fine but the style is far too casual. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that just because it's Chanel it's more formal than it would be if it came from the high street.

GrumpyCactus · 29/11/2024 07:52

Definitely not too white I suspect he's trying to spare your feelings and get you to change your mind because it looks awful.

Honestly if it looks that frumpy on the model I dread to think what it looks like on an average jo bloggs.

SoNiceToComeHomeTo · 29/11/2024 07:53

It’s fine definitely not while. Be brave and ask DP if he doesn’t like it.

Tuhlula · 29/11/2024 07:53

Colour is fine.I really like the style and shape

Duckies · 29/11/2024 13:20

I love it for a wedding look and would also wear on repeat. Your DP may hate it but trust yourself!

Duckies · 29/11/2024 13:21

(Forgot to say, not too casual at all, just modern look)

Time40 · 29/11/2024 13:30

It's absolutely fine for a wedding. The jacket would look lovely with a plain green skirt, if you get a bit bored by wedding number six, and want to vary it a bit.

Time40 · 29/11/2024 13:31

... oh, go on, OP - how much was it?? I want to know what is a Chanel "steal"!

Overtheatlantic · 29/11/2024 13:34

I think the style is awful with the cropped trousers and boxy jacket. The colour is not an issue comparatively.

luckylavender · 08/12/2024 15:30

I love it

Purplecatshopaholic · 08/12/2024 15:33

I love it. And at no point is a Chanel suit not suitable for a wedding. It’s not white either - maybe your partner just doesn’t like it and won’t say that..

DP clearly dislikes this outfit and is trying to think of a way to stop OP wearing this to a wedding. It is quite an odd shape and not sure it's Chanel.
