Dress for low key ceremony (not a wedding dress!)

So… I wasn’t sure whether I should post this in the weddings section, or elsewhere…but then couldn’t find anywhere else for it to go.

I’m looking for a dress to wear for my (low key) civil partnership ceremony in two weeks time. We’ve both been marrried before and have been together for almost 10 years and are doing this more for the legal protection that marriage / civil partnership entails. We are therefore having a small ceromony at the registry office, and then have booked a room at a local pub for our 12-15 guests (all family) straight afterwards. I spend 99% of my time in jeans, but want to wear something a bit dressier. I am thinking a smart casual dress, perhaps something like this (which is currently out of stock in my size…) any other ideas? I will be wearing it with tights and probably ankle boots. Partner is debating on whether to wear a suit or dark jeans and a nice shirt.

How about a dressy jumpsuit or velvet dress as its the Christmas party season. The dress that you posted, although I nice, is what I'd wear to the office. You don't have to wear a wedding dress but something a bit dressy to suit the occasion.

What's your budget?

Thanks for the link. Budget is up to £100, it’s quite a low key event for us, so not looking for anything too dressy, as I’d feel a bit uncomfortable.

I have the perfect dress for you. Give me a moment

There is one on Vinted - search for Hobbs White Wedding dress. There is one on there for £29. Then pair it with a jacket and shoes to make it meet your style.
It could have a bright jacket over the top or pair it with Doc Martens and a biker jacket. It is so plain that you can make it your own style.
I wore it with a denim jacket and white trainers for my registry office wedding a few years ago.
