Bridesmaids dress colour Help! (With pics)

Hi, me again!

I posted a few days ago about having chosen my dress but its not ivory which makes me question my colour scheme.

So I think I've narrowed the choices down to the following colours.

Would love some opinions maybe you could give me your top 2 or 3?

It's not so much about the colour of the bridesmaids dress more which will make my dress look best (first official bridezilla moment!) All the colours would suit the bridesmaids I think. All beautiful girls 😊

Red or bronze. Defo not one of the washed out colours.

meateatingveggie · 05/09/2022 20:42

2 or 5

Blueberrywitch · 05/09/2022 20:45

I really like #3 the light sage - I think that will be v on trend this year as well, judging by my spidey senses which always manage to predict the colour of the year 🤓

LocalHobo · 05/09/2022 20:47

Either of the greens.

LollingAround · 05/09/2022 20:55

Another vote for 2. A darker gold would be ok

Pieceofpurplesky · 05/09/2022 21:00

Sage or bronze the others are too wishy washy and your dress would just blend in - needs a contrast

Twawmyarse · 05/09/2022 21:02

I really don't like the green one - I think it looks cheap and the thigh-high split is a bit much for a bridesmaid! I'm no prude by the way but I like a bit of a classy wedding and attended one a few weeks ago where the BM's all had clingy thigh-split dresses and they all looked a bit uncomfortable and I'm sorry, but tacky.

The red one is much classier Imo or the pale green or gold one.

mrsfeatherbottom · 05/09/2022 21:03

The olive green is gorgeous with your dress

Cameleongirl · 05/09/2022 21:08

I think 1, 2, or 5 ( the gold) As long as the olive green suits the teenage bridesmaids, green don’t work for everyone (you said it suits your MOH).

Largethighsbadeyes · 05/09/2022 21:11

@Twawmyarse that wouldn't be the actual dress, it was just an example of colour

Green one, no.2. Sets it off beautifully.

Largethighsbadeyes · 05/09/2022 21:13

@Cameleongirl I think that colour would suit most people wouldn't It? I think trying to find a colour that suits everyone perfectly I'd end up with 5 different colours

Thanks @EllieBellend that's my thought at the moment but this has definitely helped me narrow it down

I knew the pale sage didn't work

Ahhh! Sorry, yes the colour is lovely.

Cameleongirl · 05/09/2022 21:16

I think it would, but someone suggested getting a swatch, which might be a good idea. Years ago, one of my friends had to wear a green bridesmaid’s dress and she hated it. She had dark hair and green eyes so I’m not sure why she didn’t like it. 🤷

akissbeforebed · 05/09/2022 21:18

Green one - best contrast without being too bold

ISeeTheLight · 05/09/2022 21:19

I love the burnt orange.

I'm getting married next July, my dress is a champagne/blush colour. Bridesmaids will be in burnt orange. Colourful flowers. Venue is very burgundy in decor. Hopefully it will all go (it works okay on my colour palette boards!).

I also love a combo of mustard orange, burnt orange & wine red expecially for an autumn wedding.

Suzi888 · 05/09/2022 21:20

Green or gold for me.

HumphreysCorner · 05/09/2022 21:21

No 3 is lovely

catandcoffee · 05/09/2022 21:22

The wine colour is stunning with your dress colour.

Largethighsbadeyes · 05/09/2022 21:30

@catandcoffee I thought that but the majority vote is a no...also my mum and that's an opinion that carries weight! 😅

Olive or bronze, but the wine is fabulous too. All great for autumn.

Definitely nothing too pale.

Blueuggboots · 05/09/2022 21:37

Copper. Some are too close to the colour of your dress and others are a bit meh. The copper looks lovely (2nd from last photo to clarify).

Largethighsbadeyes · 05/09/2022 22:45

I really love the copper but is probably too similar to SIL bridesmaid dresses and I dont want to duplicate anything. It was a beautiful wedding though

I wanted green but my family are Romany and insist that it's an unlucky colour. No green cars allowed either.

So I think you should go for green and share photos so I can see how lovely everyone would have looked Grin

I went for wine and tbf it did look stunning with ivory.
