Think I've gone off my wedding dress..pic

I was kind of 50/50 when I tried it on I liked it but felt because my hair and makeup wasn't done I wasn't 100% sure. I am planning on trying it all on this weekend which doesn't give me much time to find anything else if I hate it.

I was thinking maybe adding a nice diamanté belt to bling it up a bit?

I think it’s lovely. I’m not sure about the shape at 23 weeks pregnant

Findingthelight1 · 09/11/2021 19:06

Is it your first baby, OP? I only ask because I was the size of a house at 23 weeks with both mine - but obviously if you've done this before you'll have an idea as to how big your bump might be!

Agree a belt would ruin it, too. It's a beautiful dress.

Hortonhearsadoctorwho · 09/11/2021 19:09

It’s a lovely dress!
A lovely hair accessory and you’ll be perfect!
I’m 24 weeks pregnant and have quite a bump, I think the dress you’ve chosen would be flattering with a bump Smile

toolazytothinkofausername · 09/11/2021 19:10

A beautiful dress, but needs accessories/jewellery to make it perfect :)

You can search amazon for Bridal belt, it comes up with lots of options.

You'd also need a necklace and earrings.

Anoisagusaris · 09/11/2021 19:11

I think it’s lovely.

Only thing is that your ribs can expand as well as getting a bump so fit might be an issue.

beansandtoastforlunch · 09/11/2021 19:14

Third baby! I have attempted to stick my belly out as far as I can to get a rough estimate 🤣 I may order a maternity dress and see how I feel in it but they do look very boring.

I think it's lovely. And it'll make your day much easier than wearing something bulkier, esp if your pg and may need to go to loo more etc!

I got married in a mid-length bridesmaid dress and honestly, if you're worried it's not statement enough or something, I have never, ever for one minute regretted not wearing something more 'grand'.

gofg · 09/11/2021 19:17

I think it's lovely OP - but no belt. It's simple and elegant, which is the beauty of it.

So did I - 32 years ago today (no longer married), and I loved my dress too.

pilates · 09/11/2021 19:24

The dress is stunning and it doesn’t need a belt. I love the simplicity of it, so elegant 😍

cowburp · 09/11/2021 19:24

I love the dress. It's got a lovely simplicity to it but still has nice details. Very good choice. I don't like the shoes though.

BluebellsGreenbells · 09/11/2021 19:27

What colour are your flowers?

Maybe shoes to match the bouquet would work better, but then I’m a sucker for a coloured shoe!

Suggest bright blue or purple! Or both!!

ErrolTheDragon · 09/11/2021 19:29

It's lovely.
A belt would probably not work anyway but definitely not with a bump. Someone suggested a necklace - I wouldn't have thought so with that lovely lace. So the many suggestions re earrings/headband are on the mark.

Make sure your shoes are not tight and uncomfortable, whatever else you do!

Have a wonderful day.

Scbchl · 09/11/2021 19:30

I think its really pretty and the shoes you have picked are gorgeous. Will look lovely with your bump.

Dsisproblem · 09/11/2021 19:37

It's lovely! You'll look amazing

Username817391920384747 · 09/11/2021 19:37

Massive NO to the belt, will look tacky. It’s a lovely dress and with hair and makeup done you might just love it when it all comes together

TSSDNCOP · 09/11/2021 19:39

I used to work in Coast. Those type of dresses fall nicely over a bump. But they are not forgiving on the bust, might be worth stuffing your bra to see how much give you've got up top.

If it works I think you're into a winner. Elegant, classy and timeless.

beansandtoastforlunch · 09/11/2021 19:39

I have just quickly tried it on now and felt frumpy to be honest. I have quite a large bust and I now have more off a belly than I did a few weeks ago when I purchased it. I don't know what other style I can go for will I just feel frumpy in everything?

beansandtoastforlunch · 09/11/2021 19:40

@TSSDNCOP oh wow same timing. Yes bust is definitely going to be a problem.

It is a stunning dress. I am not sure about at 23 weeks though.

beachtosunset · 09/11/2021 20:04

Have you tried it with a tiny cushion to judge the front lift of the dress? That will give you an indication.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 09/11/2021 20:09

I was about to say it's lovely too but read your update. Is there anything a seamstress might be able to do to add some 'give' where your bump is.

Hortonhearsadoctorwho · 09/11/2021 20:12

What about a strapless empire line?

Bellyups · 09/11/2021 20:14

It’s really pretty. Please don’t go for a diamanté belt, they are so tacky and shit Grin

CasparsWineBar · 09/11/2021 20:25

I like the dress but if you don't 100% love it then get another one instead!

At 23 weeks you may be better off with a maternity dress as you may have changed shape quite a lot by then.

Have a look at seraphine for example, some gorgeous maternity wedding dresses on there.
