This dress for a vow renewal?

Hello friends,

Been together 28 years... married 17.

We've got a vow renewal in December.. so excited but unsure what to wear?

Had a huge circus wedding last time with trumpets, bells and whistles. This time just us and family.

Is this dress ok?

Had a freaking great flouncy, wafting number last time so not sure.

It's called boudoir pink..

I'm also 5ft 11 so I tend to look ok in long dresses like this.

It's a nice dress. I'm sure it will look good on someone of your height and size. I think @ActonSquirrel has a point, as I'm in the same position and feel no need to renew my views, which led me to wonder why someone else might feel the need.

My dad died two weeks after we got married for the first time unexpectedly, so equally since then we've got three children now grown up.

What's wrong with celebrating a life together and our commitment?

Dress is lovely OP - my mammy is about your age and size and it’s definitely something I’d pick out for her. If you can afford it & have time I’d recommend getting it altered to for you perfectly, takes an outfit from lovely to “wow”

Really sad for you. You can’t seem to believe that two people love each other deeply and just want to publicly celebrate that. Not something I would be inclined to do, don’t like weddings, didn’t particularly enjoy our first. Totally understand that kind of deep love though after 33 great years.

As someone who is single , never even took any initial vows let alone a renewal 🤣 and probably the most down on relationships iv ever been tbh even I read this and thought aww that’s lovely !

To be fair it’s a very common thought that vow renewals are due to one has cheated, it’s the vows are broken so they need to be redone. If the vows aren’t broken people tend to have anniversary parties etc. Vows don’t expire.

it's just us and very close family this time.

Was bonkers last time, enormous affair,

so we've chosen ceremony which is at 3 and then a dinner at a local restaurant.

Summer wedding first time and winter one for the second.

Love winter so really looking forward to doing it just before Christmas. X
