I absolutely love this dress but worrying it's going to be too hot for an August wedding!

The sleeves are net with a bit of lace, they won’t make you hot.

Wear the dress if you love it.

Settlersofcatan · 01/02/2020 21:47

Why would it be too hot? It's just a bit of net on most of your top half! I assume you usually wear more

AhoyMrBeaver · 01/02/2020 21:51

I don't think they'd make any difference.

katy1213 · 01/02/2020 21:54

It looks a bit fussy for a barn wedding. It's not the sleeves, but the bodice will be hot and uncomfortable if there's a heatwave.

Ginfordinner · 01/02/2020 21:54

TBH where I live it tends to cool down quite a lot in August, and the evenings are decidedly chilly (I'm in South Yorkshire)

LaurieFairyCake · 01/02/2020 21:54

I don't think it's the sleeves that's the problem, it's the acres of polyester/nylon - in particular that nude netting looks as sweaty as a ball sack

This. I think this was trying to be a humblebrag tbh but it's clearly not worked out in OPs favour.

hambledon · 01/02/2020 22:06

. They're not really sleeves, you might not feel hot but you'll really sweat with so much nylon netting next to your skin.
I love the bottom of the train. I find the back a bit too low cut at the bottom. I'd feel uncomfortable showing that much to assorted male relatives as I stand at the front.

whiteroseredrose · 01/02/2020 22:26

The back of the dress really isn't great ☹️

katy1213 · 01/02/2020 23:58

What @hambledon says. Get someone to check you from behind - not standing still, but moving and bending - because bra straps and bridal bum-crack will not be a good look!

icecreamsundae32 · 02/02/2020 06:56

I think the sleeves will annoy you and get in the way. Like others have said don't like the nude netting either. Sorry

hollyberry2 · 02/02/2020 07:20

It's a beautiful dress but just not what I'd picture for a barn wedding? Something simpler might a) make you feel more comfortable, there's a lot of moving around involved in being a bride for the whole day/night and b) fit the 'vibe' a bit better!

funmummy48 · 02/02/2020 07:24

I agree with the other posters. You look lovely in it but I don't think it looks right for a wedding in a barn. I think you'll be sticky and uncomfortable in it. Sorry!

Naomh · 02/02/2020 07:28

Agree with pps that it looks too elaborate for a barn wedding. Also, bridal bum crack.

TeaChocKitKat · 02/02/2020 21:55

Sorry OP but I don't think you've found the one. I think you can find something much more flattering. It's not just the back, I don't think the front does anything for you either. Sorry!

fastliving · 13/02/2020 15:33

Looks very fussy and high-maintenance for a barn wedding if you want honest opinions.

Much nicer more appropriate dresses out there, but if you love it, wear it!

Cryalot2 · 29/02/2020 21:22

It looks beautiful and regardless of venue if you like it why not? Its your choice .
