Opinions on dresses.

Can I have some honest opinions on these dresses please?

I am unfortunately limited in choice by a) budget b) time to wedding which means I need to buy off the peg and c) my size which means not a huge amount of choice.

Everything I look at I hate and feel I look enormous. No dress is going to hide my weight however so I recognise that’s a self-image issue rather than a dress issue but it means I’m finding it really hard to find a dress.

One of these my bridal party love and think I should go for but they like me too much to tell me I look like a hippo squeezed into a dress so I’m asking honest opinions on here instead. (Dons hard hat)

Thank you!

Dress 1 suits you far better. However, if you don't like it keep looking. You want to feel your best on your wedding day!

Do you really need to wear a traditional dress? You really don't look particularly large, I'm sure you could find more options - traditional or otherwise - elsewhere.

Dress 1

AnneKipanki · 18/11/2019 07:33

However you do not like it do you ?
You HAVE to feel AMAZING in it . If you don't... keep looking.
Ps, number 2 did not look good.

Dress 1 flatters you far more.

However u should know yourself when putting on a dress, this is the one. Maybe go to another shop try a few more before committing.

You will get the smile when you try the right dress 😁

Dress one with cap sleeves! You look beautiful and it's very flattering on you ❤️❤️

Harvey3 · 18/11/2019 07:48

Dress one - I wouldn't add sleeves as they'll just draw more attention to your arms. If you're self-conscious of them, maybe wear a two-tiered veil for the photos, which will cover that top of the arm area?

stucknoue · 18/11/2019 07:49

1 looks nice though have you considered something more flowing if you are concerned about weight? My friend had a beautiful chiffon dress from monsoon off the peg, she's a 16

KronksSpinachPuffs · 18/11/2019 07:54

Dress 2! I am surprised that so many people are saying dress 1, it doesn't look bad on you it looks like an outdated style now as if it's from the noughties and to me dress 2 is more flattering on you!

Archaeoannie · 18/11/2019 09:13

Also, H&M and Monsoon have got some beautiful wedding dresses that look really stylish - all under £300 - it might be fun to order online and try on at home.

NotQuiteBridgetJones · 18/11/2019 09:18

Dress 1! Very flattering, give you a lovely shape, highlights the smallest part of your waist. I wouldn't add anything to it.

I don't like the top part of dress 2. I think this is not at all flattering to your shape.

I wouldn't say it was the same person wearing both dresses. You have a beautiful shape in dress 1!!

NotQuiteBridgetJones · 18/11/2019 09:20

I actually think dress 2 would look better if it didnt have the lace above the bust.

OhMyDarling · 18/11/2019 09:22

Dress 1, you look beautiful!
Say yes to the dress!!

GinUnicorn · 18/11/2019 09:22

Dress 1 - you look beautiful

Honeyroar · 18/11/2019 10:53

I think dress 1 looks great on you. Not so keen on dress 2, but dress 3 is quite nice too. Dress 1 really works for you though.

dorothysredshoes · 18/11/2019 16:14

Dress 1 is more flattering and you have a lovely waist. Dress 2 doesn't hang quite right

IwantToDatePicard · 18/11/2019 19:53

Dress 1.

Cookit · 03/12/2019 12:44

I think dress 2 is arguably the nicer dress but not as flattering on you as dress 1.
Have they suggested anything they could do to dress 2 to adjust it?
