People tend to have a lot of questions about my job/ want advice so I thought I'd post here and see if MNers had any burning questions!

I've been a private wedding planner for over ten years, couples come to me with a budget and a vision and I make it happen! I've planned weddings all over the world for all kinds of budgets and couples and cultures :)

Hi I have a question! I saw your plan for timings of the day. We are getting married at a hotel with day/night all in one place. Registrar is booked for 1pm. Its a Thursday so kids will be at school for the day do, how long does everything usually take?
Like is it: ceremony/photos/wedding breakfast/speeches, then it moves into the night do is that right?
I was hoping that the timing would be okay for parents to collect kids from school after the day part, to bring them for the evening do?

I haven't been to a wedding since I was a child so I have no clue about them!

I have one please!
I'm getting married in November. However, our theme is rainbow pastels. I've read so much now about 'autumn/winter' weddings (which mine would be) and now I'm panicking the theme will be way too 'spring' and everyone will think it's weird Sad
I've literally bought everything in this theme (including the attached Bridesmaid dresses) but now I'm worried it won't go. Does the season have a massive impact on the theme? Help!

Basil I’m no wedding planner. However I would say that colours working, depend more on your venue and overall style of wedding.
Those colours (and dress style) look more informal than dark berry colours or greys and navy’s which are traditional winter colours. So possibly a bit jarring if set against a Georgian manor but fine in a tythe barn. They are pretty colours and they do say “party” to me.
My concern would be if I was clashing against Christmas theming in other bits of the venue or the weather. Will they look ok if the skies turn black, it’s snowing or lashing down?

rhythmless 😂 (he was my neighbour years ago. Lovely bloke)

Thank you @sheworebluevelvet
That's a good point. The venue is a barn/pretty function room time thing so don't think it'll clash. Who knows about the weather, 95% of it will be inside, so hopefully not too much of an issue. As for Christmas things, I've decided Christmas is cancelled this year anyway so I can be sure of absolute focus. Grin

Good call on Christmas. Shouldn’t be any sign of it until December in my book. But I would make sure the venue don’t helpfully put a load of Christmas stuff out. Although if it’s just trees with pretty lights it might look nice enough. Those dress colours are like sweets you could put on tree.
What made you decide on that theme out of interest? And why November? Sorry if I’m being too nosey but I love the backstories to other people’s weddings. Especially the ones who do it differently.
