OK to wear red to a wedding or is it too bold?

We are only going to the evening do. The only other dress I have that fits is a white with flowers dress and it feels too summery for October. The red one is knee length and is kind of like a skater dress. Think it will be alright or is it too in your face?

Difficult to tell without a picture but a red knee length skater dress sounds absolutely fine!

Why on earth would red not be ok for a wedding?

Cool though. Gonna wear tights with it, dunno if I should go with black tights or just normal ones. I'm only wearing flat black pumps as I hate heels.
