Well it was a badly put OP, OP. It’s not trolling to check your motives.

Always an idea to offer ones own opinion when asking others to spend time giving theirs.

At least we can all be grateful you didn’t end your post “discuss” but your tone is very odd.

When I was still a broke student I declined two wedding invitations, because I could simply not afford to go. The brides were not exactly understanding and put pressure on me to go. The friendships have never fully recovered. Though I do believe we were drifting apart already.

I don't think I have put anyone in financial difficulty! I hope the invitees would weigh up the cost and how much they wanted to come and make a decision!
One family I invited have moaned about the cost (not to me) and I am really hoping they don't come to be honest, as I invited them out of obligation.
Another friend is a bit skint and would have to travel a long way, and I have arranged for a local friend to offer her a place to stay (for free), as I would love her to come.
