I’ll keep this light hearted and won’t whine/make up excuses; it’s me and only me who is responsible here!

Don’t even have that much to lose; I’m 5’6” and around 2 stone heavier than when my partner and I met 5 years ago but I’m also older (early 30s) and as much as I feel bigger/curvier think I can actually pull it off – if this makes sense! Wedding is in 6 weeks and was booked just over a year ago; each month I do the ‘right, wedding countdown is on – get fit, eat well, up your gym sessions’ but nothing much happens. I guess if I was truly motivated I would action these things. Would be happy losing just the one stone, or even 7-10lbs which to be honest is doable in the timeframe I have. I’ve always had a small waist no matter how heavy or light I’ve been and picked a dress that accentuates it; my arms are on display so hoping I can get them at least a little more toned in the time I have.

When we got engaged I genuinely thought I’d walk up the aisle the slimmest I’ve ever been – no chance! But I’m also not really all that bothered; here’s hoping I don’t have a meltdown at my dress fitting in a few weeks’ time Also hoping the running around in the final week/days may shift a few lbs anyway!

Probably a good time to say – hit me with your tips to slim down quick; without keeling over in a weakness/moving into the gym. I’ll try my best to cut out carbs Sad

I would try the MN favourite DVD - 30 day Shred.
Not sure it shifts weight. but it definitely tones you up. I had dreadful bingo wings but happy to get arms out now ( crepey skin is my next challenge!). It's only half an hour from getting a pair of leggings on to collapsing in a heap and obviously you can do it anytime, so no procrastinating getting out the house.

Never managed it in the end. Still had a great day. Its not the end of the world.

AtrocityNeedles · 21/05/2018 16:13

I didn't lose a single gram. Had to be wrestled into my dress. I had the best wedding day ever Grin

I am the same. We booked our wedding about 10 weeks ago i think. I keep saying, tomorrow i start eating better/ exercising etc. I get married in 11 days and i have maintained my weight so far. I just want to drop about 1stone. Or atleast loose the bloat. So i am cutting out junk, carbs and fizzy drinks... starting tomorrow. I may have just had a bowl of icecream, a share size bag of crisps and a glass of some fizzy fruity drink.

I started doing the kayla itsines bbg workout and loved it. I stopped after completeing the 4 week pre workout and week 2 of the actual plan, just because i had to keep shopping for the wedding.
I second the 30day shred. I did half of it a couple years ago and saw great results.

Wow thanks everyone - 30 day shred, is this a DVD I can buy or can I find it on YouTube?

I know high intensity, short bursts of hard exercise works...so why don't I do it?? Even just 30 mins every 2 days would probably make some sort of difference...instead I reach for the Wine

I so could have written your post. I'm getting married in October 18. I want to lose a stone but I can't stop eating Grin

Eliza9917 · 23/05/2018 21:28

I've actually got fatter 🙄

cravingcake · 24/05/2018 06:48

I’m getting married in 3 days and have maintained a weight for about the last six months but for the last couple of weeks i’ve been doing body wraps just to help shift a few inches. Definitely helping, i’ve lost around 2 inches from around my middle where my dress is tightest and this makes me feel a lot better. I don’t care if it’s temporary. I’m comfortable and love how my dress now fits (and i’m late 30’s with 2 young children).

CamHowe · 24/05/2018 10:05

Every time I make a start I quickly undo with one too many treats lol.

CoffeeCakePlease · 25/05/2018 00:28

Oh wow CravingCake you must be so excited; 48 hours or so to go! Have a great day! I too read good things about body wraps. Let me know if yours was a specific brand?

Same here CamHowe - I'll have a good 4-5 days of eating well and exercising, then I'll go out for a curry, stop in the pub before and after; and eat a fry-up and Haribo all the next day sitting on my butt...this usually rolls into Monday where its imperative I start the working day with a cappuccino and almond croissant hangs head in shame

I'm quite critical when it comes to pictures of me; I just really don't like looking at them as very rarely see one I like. Don't want to get our professional shots back and have a "I don't like me in any of them" moment!

Crazy what angles can do in photos though - my mum came dress shopping with me and earlier today we were looking back through pics on my phone of all the dresses I tried on (when pics were allowed) and she said 'you look so much slimmer in these ones, you'd definitely lost some weight there' ... I reminded her the pictures were taken 7 days apart...my 'fat' shots were these awful ones of me turning to the side in a very unflattering bridal gown - my arm looking the width of a bus; the 'slim' ones were in the dress I picked, from a bit further back, standing up straight with decent natural light.

Yeah me. My dress doesn't actually zip up my back. The waist is fine, just up my back. I have big ribs, that's my problem. Swimmer's ribs. Yeah.

DefinitelyOdd · 25/05/2018 20:57

Ah I managed to lose weight for my wedding this Sunday by calorie counting and taking up cycling. All looked great and I was toned and slim.

Then I got pregnant and am now 5/6 weeks and bloated as hell again. I'm hoping the spanx and waist cincher have magical powers to be honest.

Ladygaggia · 31/05/2018 15:58

Same as Kleptronic!

Bought a dress in February that didn't fit at all - have lost weight through diet and exercise and went in to see how close I am to fitting it.

I can zip it up as far as just below my bra line (swimmer ribs too)

Wedding is in August, so although I have another 2 months to lose another half stone, I'm not sure how much my ribcage is going to reduce by!

KatyaZamolodchikova · 31/05/2018 16:12

11 months till mine, so now I feel like I should really be trying. I’ve been off work this week, and been doing really well, but the second I’m back at work it’ll all go downhill. I have a Fitbit & am doing my best to hit my targets, but I sit on my arse all day at work & the office is filled with sweets & cakes. I have a couple of stone to loose at least.

TwittleBee · 31/05/2018 16:17

I got married on Tuesday and was meant to get fit for it and looking back at photos the only thing that really stands out to me are my arms - jeez I didn't realise how untoned and flabby they are! Just wish I solely focused on those now rather than stressing about my baby belly which didn't even notice due to the A-line dress anyway!
