Anyone free to come wedding dress shopping?

I have an appointment booked next Saturday at 10.30am for my first time. My family are 4 hours away and unwell and I have no one else but mil who I don't want to see the dress until the day I marry her son.

Its in Southampton.

I'm nowhere near I'm afraid but if you don't find anyone could you get the assistant to take photos of you in the dresses and post them on here? ( if that's not too exposing...?)💜

Also there was a brilliant thread recently about buying wedding dresses, did you see it? There was lots of great advice on where to get dresses from, guess it depends on what your budget is, but there's lots of 'preloved' dresses out there at a much reduced cost.

I'm going to a lady that gets ex samples so some are 75% reduced. Don't really want to spend more than £500. I did get one off ebay but its too small. Luckily it was cheap enough. Shame because its a nice dress but actually I don't feel 'wow'

Don't want to put a downer on things, but some shops won't let you take pics in the dresses in case you then go away and get a knock off made cheaply from China (yes, really!). Happened to me in three shops. They were all prepared to take pics on their own iPads so I could see what I looked like, but not on my phone for me to take the pics away. Just letting you know in case so you're prepared for it.

I also saw the thread where another mner went with someone- if you can face it, post in AIBU for traffic?

Omg. Bless mil she has said that she appreciates that I don't want her seeing 'the one' but she doesn't want me going alone so she says try on and then she'll give her opinion but pop into another shop whilst I try on my decision finally so she doesn't know which one. She is so kind. I'm so excited, but terrified too!
