What do you think?

But surely tastes always change / fashion moves on.

My friends who got married ten years ago in white dresses probably wouldn’t pick the same dress now either.

I love it!

Thistlebelle · 07/02/2018 13:00

I think for the money you could probably get something nicer tbh.

It’s ok, but not terribly flattering on the model.

stripytopspottypants · 07/02/2018 13:21

Hhhmmm I’m not sure. It doesn’t look fancy enough for wedding or casual enough for a lesser occasion.
I don’t know where it would be worn really.
It’s quite a formal cut, with informal flowers/bees/butterflies.
I think it’s a strange shape too. Not ball gown shape, but not floaty informal shape.
I just find it odd.

you should perhaps consider how you will feel if you look back in 5/10 years and your tastes have changed

So what if her tastes have changed? She can look back fondly at the pictures and it will remind her more of the time.

Wearing something or having a hairstyle that will go out of fashion at some point (as everything does) is never a problem unless you need yourself to look perfect all the time.

MiniPharm · 07/02/2018 13:40

I know someone who got married in that dress (or v similar, same designer)! She looked stunning, got loads of compliments.

sleepthenightaway · 07/02/2018 13:42

Hmmm. I liked it until i saw the model in it. She makes it look dull and the main colour is a bit drab.

For that money you could get something much nicer imo.

I didn't wear a "proper" wedding dress to my wedding, it was white with a colourful abstract design all over it so I'm in to wedding dresses being a bit different! I think you could do better tbh.

I prefer the slightly more defined waist and muted colours (and £800 saving) on this one

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 07/02/2018 14:10

SweetheartNeckline I don’t like that; it’s way too baggy around the shoulders and a horrible colour.

ziggy1986 · 07/02/2018 16:29

I do quite like the monsoon one, although it’s not so colourful.

It's gorgeous.

I looked at this one. I think the style is lovely but I think you could get a prettier version

hellogoodbyeendo · 07/02/2018 18:13

I think it's gorgeous. I thought it was off white at first so if it was too deep a blue in real life I might prefer it closer to white. You can really go to town with a lovely headpiece to go with that embroidery, to make it more bridal overall (if that suits your taste!). Congrats!

olympicsrock · 07/02/2018 18:20

Beautiful. I’m your age.

BrimFire · 07/02/2018 20:11

Foobar that's really pretty but even the model looks swamped in it.

Something like that though would perfect for mine ....

greeeen · 07/02/2018 20:34

I like the dress you originally posted best. As long as guests know so they don't end up in something similar as that style is popular at the moment.

ziggy1986 · 07/02/2018 22:45

Thanks for all the suggestions. Love the ASOS one too - shame it’s sold out.

I don't like it. Its not refined looking. Reminds me of Angelina Jolie's veil (and I didn't like that either).

How about this one with a capelet?

VileyRose · 08/02/2018 10:20

This is just what I am looking for to be married in. I love it.

VileyRose · 08/02/2018 10:21

P.s look on etsy

ziggy1986 · 08/02/2018 10:57

Can’t believe it reminds some people of children’s drawings. You must have v talented children if they can draw such intricate designs 🙄

I can't decide if I love it or hate it!

My mum went through a stage of embroidering my clothes when I was wee and it reminds me of that.

Which I absolutely hated at the time but look back on fondly now.....

Sorry op, that's not much help is it?

If you love it, go for it.

I think my only concern is that on photos it may look like you're 'just a guest'.
