help me find a beautiful song to walk down the aisle to

We are getting married in August. I always said I was going to walk in to The Proclaimers Lets Get Married as DP and I love the song but am now having second thoughts as worried people will laugh.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated I'm sick of listening to my music now need some new ideas.

We had Here comes the sun by James Taylor and Yo yo ma. We searched for months for the right song for us and knew as soon as we heard it that it was what we wanted.

I had song bird by Eva cassidy, some people think if it as a funeral song but I thought it was beautiful.

Does it matter if people laugh? Surely it'll be a surprised/joyous/'isn't that just like them type' laugh? (At least from anyone that matters) I think weddings should be full of laughter, so I say go for it!

If you are worried, maybe think about having it as your 'going out' song - I think at that point there's even more excuse to kick up your heels and grin. Congratulations, btw!

PS I love it too, so am probably biased!

Bruno Mars Marry you? More upbeat might be better for coming back up the isle.

We went traditional going in as it was a church and the vicar was quite strict about some things. But nobody was expecting it when we started to dance out to Hall and Oates - you make my dreams come true! They thought it was brilliant fun, everybody was happy and laughing and dancing, it's one of my favourite memories of the day.

You should go for whatever song you like. I don't think people would laugh or if they did it would be affectionate. If it means something to you two even better. Or try and find a cover/acoustic version even if it isn't the Proclaimers.

I let DH choose all the wedding music. I came down the aisle to Storybook love by Mark Knoffler and we left to Wonderful World by Sam Brown.
