Fuck. I am never going to find a wedding dress that I like.

Have been looking at loads of dresses, but I just cannot find anything that I like. I don't want strapless (looks awful on me) or low backed (have seen some low backed dresses that I adore, but have a back tattoo that I would prefer to cover). Don't want a hugely full skirt. I don't want to traipse around loads of different dress shops, so am narrowing down my options online. I literally have not found anything that I like.

I'm usually really low maintenance and not too bothered about what I wear. I live in jeans, Cons, and t-shirts. Somehow, this is really important to me though. I want a really amazing wedding dress. I cannot find anything that I like. Aargh! How does one find the perfect wedding dress?

Just take a picture og the dress you linked to plus one of a train you like to a custom shop.
I drew a shit sketch of what I wanted- like you I wanted sleeves, knew what neckline suits me etc and took that with samples of materials I found in john lewis haberdashery to a dressmaker. The result was me looking better than I have looked before or since-custom fit is so flattering. I only had them make slight adjustments after the first fitting. I am tall too so brilliant to have right length. 14 years ago I paid £800 surely it cant have gone up that much?

Thanks all. Am on my phone so can't name check everyone, but really appreciate the responses. So delighted to hear that I will be able to cover up the tat. I probably do need to go and try on dresses. I just wanted to narrow it down online, I hate the idea of traipsing around loads of stores trying on dozens of dresses. It's my idea of hell. A cathedral length vail is a great idea. My sister actually bought one for her wedding, but it looked awful with her dress, so she offered it to me. That would be my 'something borrowed' sorted Smile.

Taking one good friend is a great suggestion too. My Mum has already made up her mind as to the style of dress I should have, so if I bring her she will push her preference. I would love something vintage, but don't think I'm dainty enough to fit in to a vintage dress. Thanks for the link Tethers, some lovely dresses on there. I may be moving in the right direction.

The laughable thing is, I'm so laid back about everything else. Venue, bridesmaids dresses, band etc all just fell in to place. I was so proud of myself for not getting all bridezilla-ish. And now I'm freaking out over a bloody dress. I could kick myself. Still want the dress to be bloody amazing, though Blush.
