Does anyone have any experience of buying wedding/bridesmaid dresses from eBay?

There are loads of dresses on eBay and I'm on a budget. Have any of you bought one from there? And is it true that you should get a size bigger than you are as they are made smaller? (don't even know where I got that from, or if it's true?)

I bought a dress from China for my wedding, which I didn't end up wearing because it didn't suit me but the quality of it was very nice and it only cost about £120 (few years ago now). It was from Milly Bridal. I think they sell on ebay too but not sure - you can google it and find their website. The size of mine was true to the measurements I gave.

Thankyou I have had a quick look, not sure what type I even want. May have to go and try some on first for ideas!

I bought two. Neither suited me. In the end I managed to get one from a local store for £200. I would definitely get an idea of what suits you first. I sold them both at a profit BTW.

If you can, try and find a local dressmaker who has an ebay shop. I am planning on buying from ebay but will visit first to try the style I want as it would be awful to buy without trying and realise it really didn't suit.

A friend of mine bought one from China from ebay, gave her measurements and it was fine. She loved it, and it was cheap!

just a quick question do you know if you have to pay customs charge if getting a dress from china?

Preloved could be a good place to look.
