Next week

Our heating oil delivery man has just said that all the farmers here in Kent are panicking about fuel because they all think there's more snow to come next week. Anyone heard anything?

I heard there may be n=more snow in Wales at the weekend.

I've not checked the forecast yet,but can almost guarantee it will snow again.This is because I am helping my dad with the shepherding next week,while my uncle is away.It always snows horribly when this happens.Every year,while standing on an exposed field in a blizzard,while heavily pregnant sheep barge into me,as I attempt to carry bags of feed,I remember why I didn't become a farmer.

I did ask my dad if he'd brought them in under cover yet,but no,he says that there are 'bloody sheep all over the place,thousands of them'.Last year was particularly unpleasant because we found a dead one that had been half eaten by the foxes,and I had to go around the field collecting the bits and then travel back across the fields on the tractor box with it,trying to stand upwind.

Oh yes,it will snow alright.

Reminds me of my West Country youth, FuriousGeorge. It's very romantic in my memory, but it was pretty grim at the time.

bit of a battle between mild and cold I think. Messy mix but hard to tell which one will win out. I think that Sunday and Monday will be good days to restock supplies and do any out door maintenance as they look in general pretty dry. Tuesday at the moment looks wet (snow on hills? dunno.) worth keeping an eye what goes on mid week.
