Watch out for falling icicles!

Prob rather obvious, but ours are struggling to cling on and are crashing down one by one. Neighbours have a gigantic 2m long really wide one that will crash rather spectacularly over their path when it goes.

We've got a big one on the washing line that could do some damage to anything beneath it.

I worked out last night that the neighbours spectacular icicle could weigh upwards of 30kg. Its quite scary.

They are amazing aren't they. Quite funny to have one on the washing line.

We have loads- they are not falling off yet but luckily we live in a bungalow so they don't have so far to fall! Could seriously hurt though!

I've never seen icicles like it in the UK!

We had some 5ft icicles hanging from the roof very close to my car so I have made DH knock them down with a broom out of the window.

(Possible urban myth alert) My German teacher when I lived in Berlin told me a story about her father walking along the pavement when a man a few meters ahead was killed by a falling icicle. The apartment buildings there are generally about 6 storeys so I suppose a falling icicle would pick up quite a bit of speed.

They are the perfect murder weapon, if anybody's interested.

i knocked ours off, they came off really quickly

we have kept all of ours at the back, just didnt want my car impaled with a 5 foot ice spear.
