Met Office app - weird mismatch

The old version of the Met Office forecast is by far the best UK one imho and I don’t know what I’ll use when they discontinue it.

However I’ve noticed that on the phone app (but not online) the legend at the top bears no relation to the symbols below - which seem to be what’s actually expected. Today the symbols show heavy rain to late afternoon locally but the text above on my phone says “Cloudy changing to light rain by late morning”. I’m in central southern England. Does anyone else notice this?

The Met Office app was ruined when they decided to improve it - it has never been the same since. I can't understand how - presumably they are using hte same forecasting techniques as before (which were really accurate), but the app is now not at all accurate.

I don't get a forecast for the day on mine above the symbols it just tells me for the next hour - which I can do more accurately by looking out the window.

I said app, but actually I just use the online version since they changed it. I agree the Next Hour thing on the app is just foolishness. For now you can switch back to the old version, from top of the clunky new online version.

I’ve been saying the same about Apple Weather for months! I wonder if they’re all pulling from the same place, but I’d given Apple the benefit of the doubt that they were based in California where 5 minutes of rain does make a rainy day, whereas here that could be a sunny day on the whole!
