Why am I looking at current weather maps of the UK telling me it’s wall to wall sunshine, but outside in the midlands it’s cold and cloudy? Very disappointing 🙃

The West of Ireland is absolutely gorgeous! Had a lovely couple of weeks, and no sign of it coming to an end. I'll have a beer out in the garden for you later. 😜

Cheers, we had beer garden plans for later so I’m hoping the cloud moves on!

Sunny here in London 😒

ARainyNightInSoho · 17/05/2025 12:37

It’s weird. For several days now the bbc forecast has claimed it is sunny and 19/20 degrees where I am. But it isn’t! It’s freezing. I would guess more like 15.
It’s like the forecasters decided it was going to be warm and sunny this weekend and can’t be bothered to adjust to the reality. I’m annoyed because I am away and I packed according to the forecast (uk summer clothes) but really need a winter coat.

smallstitch · 17/05/2025 12:38

And I wouldn’t mind if the bloody forecast was correct so I could plan accordingly! The met office said it was updated a few minutes ago, but it’s full of shit.

Yes - select your area, click on the weather symbol for the relevant day, then it opens up a page full of info. Scroll down to the UK weather map bit, and you can choose if it shows rainfall, cloud cover etc.
