Ermmmm, tornado warnings?

I was looking at the weather for tomorrow and saw that the south of England has been given a tornado warning for tonight?
Is this just the media being dramatic or are things about to get hairy ?

We often get warnings on the south coast. I think there have been 2 or 3 tornados that I can remember but they are small and hit a very small area.

I saw that too! My Facebook group for weather geeks doesn't say tornadoes. It has about the remains of Hurricane Kirk coming this way, but mainly away to the south of the UK.

There are about 30 tornados a year in the UK. They’re just a lot smaller than the ones we associate with movies and the US!

I'll ignore it then. I know we get them every now and then but the difference this time was I don't remember seeing specific warnings before.

I live in the south west and years ago I was walking down the hill to our house and could see a waterspout, a tornado over water.
