Please let it be true

Why?? You've had summer.

bookworm14 · 26/09/2023 22:06

I bloody hope not. It’s not meant to be warm in October.

Houseplanter · 26/09/2023 22:07

@KateyCuckoo not much summer to speak of where I am.

OP posts:
Houseplanter · 26/09/2023 22:08

Just 23 degrees or so. Nothing major.

It's not that unusual is it? We got married at the end of October a few years ago and it was about 25 degrees.

AuntieJoyce · 26/09/2023 22:14

I am going on holiday on the 15th of October, so I can reliably tell you when it will start.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 26/09/2023 22:15

Oh god I hope not! I am so ready for autumn!!!!

ReeseWitherfork · 26/09/2023 22:24

We have a family birthday the first week of October and it’s usually warm.

Lysianthus · 26/09/2023 22:27

Lovely! Delays expensive heating bills

BestIsWest · 26/09/2023 22:28

It’s often warm around the 18th of October - it’s known as St Luke’s Little Summer.

Absolutely. Win win

Nepmarthiturn · 26/09/2023 23:33

Would be such a relief to have some warmth before winter are sure a dire summer. I hope this is true.

CyberCritical · 27/09/2023 00:14

I remember Halloween a few years ago in shorts and a vest so it wouldn't be unheard of.

Costalife · 02/10/2023 09:26

It's so strange

Lows of 19c overnight here !
Fans and windows open still.
Shorts and t shirts still

notperfectorskinny · 02/10/2023 09:27

Hope so! Delaying putting on the heating for as long as possible😊

Vintagevixen · 02/10/2023 09:36

God I hope not - outside humidity is crazy at the moment, will cause all sorts of damp issues in our old housing stock.

I want my cold (stamps foot!) hoping for a good cold winter this year, last years winter was such a disappointment.

EasternStandard · 02/10/2023 09:37

Nice and helps keep heating off

MartyFunkhouser · 02/10/2023 09:38

My phone weather app says 24 on sat and 25 on Sunday this week! ☀️lovely!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/10/2023 10:09

Posted in the autumn thread:
I've been hesitating about posting this as the models have been very conflicting, with entirely different solutions being presented. It's starting to look more likely now that next weekend will see temperatures in the mid 20s across much of England with some favoured eastern spots seeing perhaps 26 or 27c. This is some 10c above the average maximum temperature for October.

This hot air is coming from the south, where parts of northern and central France may see temperatures in the high 20s or perhaps low 30s.

Costalife · 02/10/2023 14:23

It's very humid today in West Sussex
90 per cent humidity
Horrid

TenBlackRoses · 02/10/2023 14:32

No! It needs to get colder! It's humid, and muggy, and my poor animals are fluffing up in winter coats but it's still too warm... and the bloody flies are still about, they need to sod off!

Finteq · 02/10/2023 14:36

Sounds good to me

Exactly. 25 degrees is predicted for the SE - in October! That's bloody scary
