Crazy storm today

Has anyone had a short lived storm today?

North Yorkshire, been quite bright and sunny, fairly calm, very light rain.

About 45 minutes ago came in very dark, sky was yellow like in summer storms. Very very windy all of a sudden and heavy rain.

It really did remind me of a summer storm, very weird given it is January!

I live in a very old house with very thick walls, never hear weather outside, I could hear the wind it was wild!!

That does sound wild! A proper squall. How long did it last for?

Literally about 10 minutes. After skys cleared very quickly and all wind dropped.

Is very windy again now thought!

In the middle of the storm now. It's been on & off all day but really picked up, thought the windows were going to blow through!

Yellow makes me think of the times we've had the saharah sands taking over us. It's that happening again perhaps?

Yes! I was out with my dog this afternoon about 2, it was quite calm and dry, when all of a sudden, this wind came out of nowhere, nearly blew me over, with lashing rain.
Ten minutes later calm again and no rain, I live on the edge of the Pennines Greater Manchester.
I did think it very odd!
